I totally did not expect this!!!! I'm so pumped!! I almost screamed here at work seeing this! I'm totally fucking elated right now.
THANKS GUYS!!!
WOWOWOWOWOW
Thank you!
Total loss for words, I love all of you. Seriously guys.
:) :) :) :) :) :)
I will definitely get to the questions, but I am at work right now and I want to devote some time to answer.
LET ME JUST SAY THOUGH
This is one of the best feelings I've had in a long time. All of your kind words connected with the hundreds of good memories that I have created with you so far almost brings tears to my eyes.
Congrats Johnny! Really do MR proud. Love the video editing that master. You've done one of the tightest, if not THE tightest video about riding in LA that I've ever seen. Looking for more kickass shit from you!
WOW this is even better than watching for imachynna 2000 post!
I found out about Midnight Ridazz through my friend Kyle Wills. Kyle went to college back at Ohio State with me, and he is now in the Navy (initially at San Diego). He was up one weekend visiting LA and he had heard about MR from one of his friends in SD. He went to CRANK MOB alone while I went out with my roommate, and came back and told tales of the awesomeness that I now know CRANK MOB to be. My first ride was when Tiffany (tomato) was hit by a car and I witnessed a gunpoint robbery on the way back with many riders that I know very well today. Brad (barleye) can tell you all about that night as well.... Some CRAZY shit!
My first big ride was LACM in February, which is where I came to meet Stuart (skd). Kyle was with me on that ride, and I had a fucking blast. I was totally blown away by the power and overwhelmingly positive attitude. I was IMMEDIATELY hooked.
Q2: WHEN DO WE GET TO MEET YOUR TRUE LOVE?
My true love (Mandy) who I have been with for over 3 years now has promised to come out on her second ride this coming weekend. Her first ride was Sins & Sprockets in June (she had just moved out from Ohio), and she had a hard time keeping up with the pace of that ride. This negative experience for her made me very upset because I had been looking forward to showing her the time of her life (as I had experienced) for a long time.
Bottom line is, I will need all of your help this weekend to make her want to keep coming back out OFTEN. The more F.U.N. she has on this ride, the better. She is shy initially, so try not to put her on the spot at first. I just want her to feel comfortable :) Also, I really want to get her to befriend someone so she would even feel comfortable starting to go on rides like GOGA or out on her own. I don't want to push her too hard though :) These things come with time!
Q3: DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A 'HIPSTER?
I don't think I act like a hipster. Eddie I know you think I look like one, LOL, is there a difference? I don't know, and I don't really worry about it too much. Maybe I try to take the functional aspects of the hipster realm and apply it to my own personal style. I like to be as well rounded as possible, and I tend to like clean & simple over grungy & detailed.
I would definitely avoid being lumped into a stereotype, but if it's inevitable I'm not going to worry about it too much :)
Q4: IF YOU COULD MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
That's a really hard question. I'd try and help individuals rather than everyone as a whole, hopefully the people I help continue helping other individuals in special ways- spreading the good deeds. There's nothing anyone can do to change the way everyone thinks or feels about something, but friendships can bridge the widest of gaps in my opinion!
So the easy answer to that question is, I would make the world a better place by introducing everyone to you guys!
Q5: HAVE YOU EVER GOT A FLAT?
I've only had one flat, and it was on the last Wetside Ride. It was then that I finally learned how to fix a flat. I was mortified. How long have I been riding for and I didn't know how to fix a flat? Luckily Fuzz helped me get back up and running at the last stop.
Damn that was a fun ride. Bentstrider with the water balloon bombing runs... LOL
Q6: IF THE WORLD WAS FLAT, WHAT WOULD YOU RIDE?
I'd probably try to construct one of those bikes in the teardrop shaped fiberglass shells. I remember seeing them on the Discover Channel as a kid, I'm pretty sure you can go like 75mph in those things. I'd have to figure out a way to stop without falling over, but damn that would be so fuggin badass :)
NICE ANSWERS, SEEMS WE GOT US A REAL RIDA HERE, WELCOME TO THE FOLD, MAN DUDE, EVERYBODY LOVES YOU, I REMEMBER HOW YOU WAS TELLING ME OVER AND OVER, I LOVE CRANK MOB !!!
TRULY, I WAS THINKING "THIS FOO IS CRAZY", THEN I REALIZED THAT WE SHOULD ALL, EXPRESS HOW F.U.N. BIKE RIDING IS !!!
Eddie- Thanks man, these really are the best times I've ever had, ever. This past CRANK MOB was fucking rad-rad-rad, too. Sucks that you lost your cell phone at pan pacific, but I'm sure next month's [year anniversary] CRANK MOB will more than make up for it!
Matt- Dude yeah man! I have a LOT of footage from the jousting, including Spook waving the start flag. I know I captured a few jousting runs between the tall bikes too!! Anyway hells yeah I'm making another CRANK MOB video! I love making that shit!
If I ever see a gun again, cocked and loaded, sticking in to some dude's back, and I'm the only one in the store besides the dude with the gun and the dude getting held up, IMMA FREAK OUT A LIL BIT!
Man that night was so fucked! What an introduction to Midnight Ridazz!
if it's ok with Johnny, I have a question Eddie....what are the stories behind your tattoos? for one, I can't figure out what's tattooed on your neck.....
On the one day I need to drive to work, someone takes a bunch of paint off of my rear bumper trying to parallel park into the space behind me.
I noticed it when I got out of my car getting lunch today... Freshly removed paint near the parking light on the rear bumper, 7' X 7' scraped to shit area around it, and spider cracks where they bent the bumper in.
So when me and a buddy that I work with came back to work from lunch, I was thinking shit I bet they just parked down the street somewhere... Sure enough 100ft down there is a green acura with freshly ADDED red paint on the passenger side of the front bumper... BINGO! Victoria secret bag in the passenger seat, has to be a girl!
There are only a handful of businesses around here so we took the rest of our lunch break asking the neighbors if anyone drives a dark green acura. Nope nope and nope! Damn!
So we go in after having given up, I ask the whole design studio "Does anyone drive a green acura?" One girl who is freelancing from New York is like "Yes, why what's up?"
"Uhhh...... Did you hit my car this morning??"
"Oh.... yeah...."
"OK Well I guess I'll just get an estimate for the cost of the repair, is that cool with you?"
"Oh.... yeah..."
SOME PEOPLE man!!!
I was nice to her but still, that shit has to be embarrassing when it's in front of your boss and the rest of the company! Shady as fuck!
Good question(s).
I'm not sure if more people would come...? I was just wondering... it seems that small rides don't make spoke cards only big ones, but I think small ones should be recognized (and recognizable) too! :)
