Not sure how many of you have heard but YETIMAN, NoHo Sprints number one champeen, got hit by a car today on his way home from work. The car got a little wrecked, Yetiman's bike got fuctup, and Yetiman's hip is swollen nasty. And he's gonna need stitches in his arm. Apparently the driver ran a red light, hit Jeff, and then afterwards when Jeff was on the ground, proceeded to scold Jeff for crashing. Witnesses detained the maniac driver until police arrived. Jeff was walking, and I took him to the ER. He's gonna live, but RIDAZZ, let him know how much you miss him, and feel free to share your thoughts on why we like Jeff, now that he's all banged up and needs love!

the car didn't hit Jeff, Jeff hit the car, and fucked it up. but on a serious note, its good to hear that you're ok jeff, and you know what alleviates pain jeff, so hit me up and we'll smoke some of them painkillers =D

thanks for the love everyone, i am trippin on drugs rite now layin in bed.
I was making my normal 10 mile ride home from work, just as i do every day.
For some reason a car ( old dude ) ran a completely red lite and T boned me on my left side about 45 mph. I was very luck I had passed the middle of the vehicle bumper, because i am guessing it would have sucked me under but I recieved the hit in line with the drivers side headlight. The driver stopped and ran out to tell me its not my fault " you were in the middle of the street and its not my fault" as i was laying on the ground.
People that were sitting at the stop light claimed i was about 10 to 15 feet in the air doing almost 2 complete flips, I think the reason I walked away from this one was my Chrome bag was full of stuff which kept my back straight, I had paper work and books to keep it stiff.
I got a few stiches, X rays, a broken Iphone, broken glasses and a fucked bike but for the most part i got lucky
For all you Bike Porn surfers out there to give you an idea of how hard i got hit --
It bent my Thompson seat post about 30 deg.

Jeff, so glad to hear you came out of that one OK! Crazy driver, can't believe he yelled at you. What a crazy scene. Sounds like you're made of rubber, with all those flips and no broken bones. Wow. Good job on staying in one piece! Hope you heal up fast.

Sorry as hell about this one.
For your own benefit you need to contact an attorney that specializes in bike accidents. Usually you can find them in ads in bike mags. If you do not you will never get a new nice bike and some pain and suffering and time off work, injuries etc.
Get an estimate of damage from a store and remember bikes in accidents are stressed and not much good.
In the mean time get a copy of the accident report. His insurance company needs to be called and you need to put in a claim for what you want. If they give you what you want no lawyer is necessary, but from my experience they will try and give you NOTHING.

By the way if there is a witness then you win the case...Get a statement from him if you have onein writting to submit to the insurance Co. and they will kiss your ever lovin sweet ass
You have one year from the time of the accident to settle... If they string you along over that period , you lose your rights. unless you have sued them before the year is up and that is extreme but sometimes necessary.

Ride On, lives to ride. If the motorist has insurance, run those medical bills up. The settlement amount is usually 3 times the amount of med. bills. Then divided by 3, 1/3 goes to lawyer,1/3 goes to pay bills, 1/3 goes to the Yetiman. Like Larry says get a cycling lawyer, you should not have to pay expences or med. bills till the law suite is settled. If they want you to pay up front get a different lawyer. Settlements can take up to 2 years to collect on, be patient and you will get more.
