Rider of the week is Alec Schwarz!
Why?
He rides his tall bike with mad style.
He saves lives (literally! Saved a drowning ridaa on CRANK mob decompression)
Brings blankets on rides.
Always ALWAYS has an awesome attitude
ALWAYS dances
Loves confetti
He always brings healthy snacks, fruit etc...
Never ever gets on anyones bad side, and is always a genuine lovely person.
Over all awesome amazing ridaa and deserves mad respect.

Seriously one of the most creative, fun.lovin, positive persons I've evaar experienced. What an inspiration he is. I will never forget the C.R.A.N.K M.O.B that he wore a cardboard wood fire around his body and a big group of people were circling him, dancing, chanting, etc.

I love Alec and wish i had an ounce of his positive and friendly attitude that he exudes so effortlessly.

also really great stencils and screens.
he is one of the original Westsidazz.
oh and the giant slip n slide was his idea that he's been wanting to execute for over a year! really, every C.R.A.N.K. MOB, he would e-mail me saying he wants to do a giant slip n slide. i'm glad we finally made it happen.

It’s my second time! I’ve already been ROTW, Beth knew that and didn’t care (or really did care!), I love you Beth. I love all of you. This thread makes me feel so special. I’m a huge fan of all of you too. I love that all of us are such huge fans of each other. I’m super quiet and don’t do much outside of biking with many of you but I consider you all my good friends. And it makes me so happy to have such amazing friends.

Alec is one of the first Ridaz I ever encountered. I remember the home coming of the Bike Summer opening party and everybody had these cool bike summer hats. I said where do you get those and they all told me to see Alec. Was told by somebody who wears cycling caps that it was the best cap they have ever worn
He was the first person to use the phrase "we are the ones we have been waiting for" and it actually meant something when he said it.
First person I saw on a tall bike and encouraged me to try it.
Co-produced one of these best rides ever "Wild Wild West" ride.
Although I never really got to talk to him to much he always gave me the impression of being the genius DIY type person.

First ride-LACM,
First MR ride- #3 The Mural ride,
Rides that I was on the FIRST one- Westsidazz, SMCM, VCM, CRANK Mob, Robotz, Bear Cavalry, Monday Night Scary Ride, The Tallbike Ride, Westside Mosey, Pier pressure (?), Los Angelopes… probably others. and a bunch of annual rides like FireWrex, FML…
2. how long have you been riding your tallbike?
About five years, maybe more. I did parts of AIDSlifecycle on a tallbike, I’ve climbed fargo, won an alleycat, put it in an art show…
3. what is your favorite thing to do on a ride? (other than ride your bike)
Inject fun, do things that bring people together, make it easy for new riders to join the fun; AKA spin jumpropes. And get hugs.
4. best moment on a ride, but not on a bike?
Wow, too many, PIZZALIFE at CRANK Mob was amazing and probably has the best photos. Oh! the CRANK Mob where everyone completely ignored FUNderstorm and I basically had a private show on the beach with Tarsis. !
My favorite thing I SAW on a ride was Marcus in the middle of an intersection directing traffic with the Franz head while there were a dozen cop cars down the street with twenty ridazz up against a wall.
AT told me one of his favorite moments was when I pied him as he was addressing CRANK Mob on the second ride.

In high school I watched Basquiat over and over. I’ve sold a bunch of fine art but am not interested in that anymore.
- Where do you want to travel to? Any plans?
I get home sick for LA. I have always wanted to check out Japan. It would be the most fun ever to move to some small town for a little while and slowly cause a bunch of drama and completely change people lives.

1. How many freak bikes have you built?
Two tallbikes with Brian, plus helped others on theirs. Two bronco bikes. A swingbike. The XdrunkbikeX with Max. And a couple other part combination oddities. Once I attached a basket to the back of a bike and we played indoor-moving-basketball on the forth floor of a building downtown.
2. When are you throwing a ride next?
I love planning rides but I get stressed actually doing them so I leave all my rides unfinished. That way I don’t have to put them on. I have files. And stacks of notes.
3. How can I get one of those "best hats ever?"
Yours is brewing. Other people can ask every year or so and eventually, maybe, you’ll have to make out with me or something. :P The people that have the most hats from me have organized some of my favorite rides. So go do that.
4. When can we build bikes?
Lets build bikes, plan rides, make art, turn LA up a bit.
5. Why are you so awesome?
Rad, that’s totally going to help me get the kids.

I can't wait to go back to LA with all my new ideas. I've met so many cycling communities and still have 5 weeks more of traveling meeting more. The westside will get turned up.

Over 200. Maybe closer to 300. idk. I really like the caps I made for team Bonobo when they did the 508. I had a lot of fun making the cmob caps.

Whoa, too far back for my memory. The Westsidazz rides were very inconsistent. Sometimes we would have no plans and hang out at the start way past bike time then just cruise around a bit. Other times we would tour things like traffic circles or murals. There were several super planned out themed rides with stuff to do at the stops.
3) where do you see Crank Mob in 5 years?
I have a vision of it expanding beyond bikes, pulling in people from all different groups and getting mega huge.
4) Have you heard from your cousin in Ojai lately?
Last time I saw him was randomly on an MR ride!

I would like to be living off weeds from my yard (instead of supermarket veggies), wildfoods collected on trips outside of the city, and spring water I collect myself. I want to move away from the foods that have had their poisons breed out by humans.
2.) Do you think you'll go back to Hawaii any time soon?
I wouldn’t mind a vacation there. Ridazz trip!
3.) Are you still planning that trip to Japan?
I don’t know. We haven’t really talked about it. Plus I could take a lot of time off work with that money if I stayed in LA.

I don’t ride a tallbike I ride a Tiger.
5.) When will you give me back the kids?
Whatever. I hope you’re not serious. You don’t even visit.
6.) When will you become light?
My written goal is that I live 8,ooo years. Some really interesting longevity insights have shown up in my life since writing that.
7.) Do you know that at this exact moment its 12:34?
Did you wait to post this exactly at that time? About 4 times a day I randomly look at the clock at really interesting times. Tarsis and I always mention it to each other when we do. So far today I’ve noticed 11:11 and 11:44.
8.) How was your day today?
It started (12am) with talking to a cute girl on the phone while getting some projects done witch was really nice. As I was falling asleep I wrote something I really like for a group I want to start. I slept in but managed to get in a few minutes of nude sunbathing before work. Only one of my kids pee’d their pants. And I’ll finish my day dancing with the Mosey.
9.) Do you know that you've been one of the greatest influences in my life?
We have done great things for each other. Love you gato.

The universe is much more amazing than most people realize.

Alec is the first guy I ever saw do a trackstand on a tallbike... Also greeted me at Bike Summer and threw the Wild West Ride, I still have the flyer for that, with the burnt edges... Alec is without peer in the Ridazz community, one of the most influential Ridazz in the city... Certainly one of the most visionary as well as modest and fun to be around... Alec deserves this shit every week if you ask me...

I love all the memories this is bringing up. Bikesummer- remember the excitement?. Giant trophies- Paul I ended up mounting that on the back of a low rider bronco bike for a gang ride. Wild West flier!- so cheesy.

You want me to pick favorites amongst my lovers? The fruit I eat the most of is mango. Cucumbers and avocados are staples. Durian makes me feel satisfied like no other food. My favorite smoothie ever was made from saguaro cactus fruit. I’m growing gogi berries, cherimoya, and gooseberries. Food would be boring without hot peppers. I really want to try cacao.
2)What is your favorite fruit to share with fwends?
Trader Joes frozen mango, almost defrosted, from the bag to your mouth. And I really like introducing people to things they have never even seen before.
3)Why do you sunbathe nude?
It feels good. The suns energy is very important to vibrant health. It’s not something to fear. I never use sunscreen. Sunscreens often say right on the package “contains… known to cause cancer”, we really are living in the dark ages.
4)Do you ride nude?
I haven’t yet.
5)Should we ride nude?
A nude ride through a forest would be amazing. I also want to do an almost nude ride, on trainers on the sidewalk of West Hollywood as a LifeCycle fundraiser.

I totally forgot about that. It was pretty fun but a bit of a failure. I need to make a new one with stretchy fabric. It was just a test run for something much more epic.
