i left my cycling shoes at my parents house, so that means i cant ride.
does anyone have some pedals i can borrow for like a week? im fine with plastic toe cages and nylon single straps, just as long as the toe clips themselves are on the larger size for my big feet. i can pay you in beer if necessary.

What size shoe do you wear. I have a nice pair of almost never used cycling shoes size 12. I have some larger plastic cages you can use but I dont have any straps.

yeah, i know. thats why i just want to borrow some normal pedals and switch out my clipless. ill be back at my parents house next week because i have to go get my wisdom teeth taken out, so i only need to borrow them for a few days. im refuse to look like a sketchy bike thief and roll around brakeless on spd pedals while wearing converse.

I got some pedals with straps and cages you can borrow...but I think they would be too small for you...you can break it apart and use whichever parts you need

Borfo has a pair of toe cages I left on his tandem from last years ALC. Get those from him.

darn I don't have a tone arm. It's ok...my parents have one I can use. I've already heard the album I'm trying to play...I'm just dying to hear ms winehouse on vinyl.

i got my shoes/pedal situation under control now.
lindsay - i have a cd burner hooked up to my record player. if you want a cd copy of the lp (since it will sound differently than the normal cd) i can make you one. it will cost you though, because i would have to listen to amy winehouse to make it.

I've already got this record on CD, I'm one of those crazy fans that has the CD, record, AND the deluxe version. yeah. I just really want to hear her on vinyl. Especially the Frank album...but I haven't managed to find that one yet.

After you burn a cd from an lp, does it sound exactly like the lp?

My experience with digitizing vinyl is that you get a sound somewhere in between. It's not going to sound like the vinyl because you've gone from analog to digital, but it does retain some semblance of the vinyl. But maybe that just the pops & scratches . . .

Well its getting compressed so I don't think its going to have the same feel.

the lp will sound like the lp in the sense that it doesnt go through a computer before being burned, so there isnt a program that cleans up the audio or whatever. if theres a pop and a scratch and it doesnt make the needle skip, then it will be like that on the cd too.

Yes, but you're still turning the analog signal into a digital file at some point in order to burn it to a cd, correct?l
