Yeah, I've spent a lot of my pissant teenage years in Beverly Hills.
I just can't stand the sight of that city anymore. You guys have fun getting handcuffed.
It's funny to have that story of being fucked with by a gang of doughboys, but you only need one.

I love idea. The.
Just make sure you follow most of the traffic laws and carry copies of the CVC with you. It's hit or miss w/ BHPD, some are idiots, some are actually not too bad.
The worse the traffic is on that Saturday, the more fun we'll have.

this is when critical mass becomes less of a "demonstration" and more of a "lets fuck with traffic for no reason".

Things you may most likely encounter on this ride:
Persians in their BMWs.
The Cast of Entourage
Gold-diggers with their step-children.
Men with inferiority complexes driving cars that compensate for their small dick size.
Rent-A-Cops
Real Cops
Douchebag Trust Fund Babies
Department Stores to expensive to walk into
A swarm of Metrosexuals
Everything you've described pretty much applies to just about EVERY white neighborhood in L.A., from Silverlake to Santa Monica, so why the anger?

that's my thinking. Beverly Hills has the greatest concentration of assholes of any part of LA County. In addition, they have the money and lawyers to feed their own arrogance like a cancerous tumor.
Their effect on culture and labor destroys civilization every day and their inability to see the other side, only a few miles down the road has created a culture of division and fear that is destroying our country.
Yes, go fuck with them for me. But please look up the laws in Beverly Hills. Their cycling laws are slightly more stringent than State Law, which is NOT LEGALLY ENFORCEABLE. But that's wht BHPD does. The city council has given them an excuse to fuck with anyone, and so they fuck with anyone who doesnt look like money or somebody's maid.

It really depends upon the route. There are a lot of wide streets in BH. But that kinda defeats the urban aspect of CM.

ok, this time i really don't have anything to do with this ride.
BUT IF YOU DO GO
read up on BH's draconian laws.

(type "bicycle" into the search box.)
THEN, study a map of Beverly Hills. Once you're out of their jurisdiction, they can't fuck with you. that is the most important thing to keep in mind.
SO when they come to get you....
RUN! RUN! RUN! for the city line
and once you get across the city line,
ROOT! cause they can't touch you.

Beverly hills is a large area. I think many expect to ride in the "popular" area of BH, but this ride will explore many boundaries of the BH. Why are people so scared of Cops? If you don't break any laws, then you'll be cool. "No rider left behind," right?

I disagree about the horrible generalities of the people of Beverly Hills. I worked in BH for 4 years. I found the people to be good hearted, empathetic people. I could be wrong, it could have been my experiences. The people are pretty much the same as anywhere else, except they have a higher concentration of money. When people have more money, I find people to be more relaxed. They have that "one$thing" less to have to worry about. They are people like any other people. You have your good, bad and ugly.
The worse aspect of BH is traffic.
Before I worked there, I found the traffic to be scary to ride in. As I learned the streets, I found the place to be a major blast to ride in.
I could never see driving in or to BH. It is too harsh on mind to drive in BH.
My suggestion for this ride is the time. I know I'm no one to say CM is suppose to happen during major traffic,,,(yes I had everything to do with picking SFV-CM start time to be 8pm.....that was the only time we where able to get people who wanted to participate in it, was to get together after work with enough time to get to the meet location).........................................................................................................
...................................
Read here: The suggestion is to have it during the day, say 4pm when traffic is ridiculous. I have found the BHPD to be Jeckle and Hyde with their personalities between day and night. I have found it safer and easier to get alway with almost anything during the day (except Jay walking) and almost impossible not to get harassed during the evening. I have seen people from this community and other cyclist get stopped, complete with full harassment for having no front light. Around four o'clock it is typically "sundowners" time and people (cops) will be less likely to mess with you and people may be less likely to throw a fit for having to wait for bicycles. After the sun has gone down, BH is like a ghost town except for the restaurants.
whatever you do, have fun and don't like RBI's lame comments about CM get you down.

I'm sure many residents of the BH area are swell individuals. Those generalizations were meant as a joke. To suppose that I actually believe them and harbor much hate for the BH neighborhood is retarculous. I guess some people are just hyper-sensitive towards jokes aimed at the elite. I suppose I'll just make fun of the poor; maybe I won't get any flak for that.
