...and it would seem that I need surgery. Inside my SKULL.
No, I don't have a brain tumor or anything, but they're going to need to poke some holes in my sinuses and reconstruct my orbital floor and shit.
This will mean no bike riding for a while.
I need somebody to take over the ride-leading and ride-scouting duties for the Toy Ride. I'll still handle making the spoke cards and distributing them at the start point. Somebody? Pls? Plsssss?

By the way, in case anybody didn't know, I'm talking about the South Sidazz route for the Toy Ride, beginning in downtown Long Beach (actually, if you take over the ride-leading job, you can start it wherever the hell you want, but I recommend downtown LB).
K, the Hassle Race is still on! The date for surgery isn't set yet, but there's no way it will be the day after tomorrow.

sounds like you have nasal polyps and youre gonna get a lavage (sp?). you will cough up alot of blood for a few hours post op but will be fine a few days later.

Seriously though. I know its gonna suck and i hope you have a quick recovery and get back to riding. Drinking boxed wine isn't the same without you.

Allan to the rescue! Basically, I won't be able to ride a bike at all, so your job would be to lead the ride and scout the route. Actually, if the meeting point ends up being anywhere near last year's, you can just use last year's route, which should still be available somewhere in the archives of this board. Maybe scout it just to make sure there are no evil railroad tracks. In fact, if the meeting place gets confirmed in the next few days, I may still be able to scout the route this weekend.
Sound like something you want to do? As I said, I'll still make the spoke cards even if I have to wear a pirate eyepatch to do so (the oculoplastic specialist tells me that I'll have double vision for a while).

No, Dr. Hume, not nasal polyps. Negative pressure in the maxillary sinus, causing bowing of the orbital floor. Antrostomy + orbital floor reconstruction using some kind of mesh. Whee!
