A friend of mine always tells me that Crank Mob is full of High School kids. Not having attended one these events since it first started until recently I had no way of knowing.
A recent thread about crank mob said it all.............................
He looked kinda older.
Mid 20's-25.
Facial hair.
Hat.
"I'm a 40 year old duchebag cruising for hot loving on crank mob."
That's what I would say if I was still doing this ride in 11 years. Right now, I'm semi-douched but never too old for FUN on a bike. The thing that's great about MR and CM rides are that there's no age group. But CM does skew more young 20s and more hipster than most rides.
if youre riding a bike in 2009 and not driving a car, then the status quo considers you a hipster, so just drop that.
crank mob is a high school party.
But speaking of, has anyone noticed the evolution of SMCM from the typical critical mass activist to the more crank mob party ride and circle of deaths. I'm all for corking and riding in a pack taking multiple lanes, but I still like the concept behind critical mass.
Regardless, I'll continue to come down and play in the Westside to my hearts contempt.
After one, dreaded morning of dealing with our local, roadie-crew up here, and finding zero-satisfaction in solo activities, nothing will break down the MOB.
yes!!!!!! i can drink a beer or 2, and just kick back and watch the drunk fuckers act a fool and make themselves look bad, im not with the whole "LETS GET FUCKING SHIT FACED!!! I CAN DRINK MORE THAN YOU" thing, know your limits.
@Junu-
I totally understand about not feeling comfortable with people my own age anymore. I finally went back to school this semester, and I'm like, "...who are all these fucking kids around me?!" all the time. The sad thing is, I'm still one of the youngest people on campus.
And I can also think of a few people I've never seen sober, even after 6 months of riding with them.
who gives a shit how old people are, as long as everyone has a good time and dont do stupid shit, then Crank mob is golden,
we ride, we drink, we mob, end of story.
i miss having a computer to post worthless nothings on this site.. ps ive been here at groundworks using mikeys computer for like four hours... hahahahah
Another way I've taken to looking at CRANK Mob was seeing it as one, big ass frat-party where not everyone is either in college, finished college, or even went to college!!!!
