Internets is hard to use for communication. But I try.
I need to put the word out to those going to Salton Sea. We need more firewood. My car, and Dak's car cannot carry enough out.
Can people please speak up on heling bring out wood?
I have wood at my house and you can pick it up. I have lists of places where you can pick up free wood. I just need enough people to volunteer some space in thier cars to bring out fire wood.

last year we went through 1/2 cord of wood and had to be conservative with it. That was 50 people. this year we have twice as many people. It's a lot of wood, we need help with it. Please chime in and let us know if you can commit to bringing wood.

I'll be bringing wood. As much as I can fit in the van with all my silly hats. Also,.... Big logs are great. The bigger the better and longer burning. if everyone brings one 500 lb. tree stump we should be fine.

Check Craigslist for your area (626). Search fire wood under freebies.
Also, I know a place near Silverlake that has a good deal on wood. I think it was 75 bucks for a pickup load. Stacked. Not scooped. If anyone is interested I'll post a number for this guy.

Also... anyone coming to Salton Sea have a fondue pot or other sterno powered double boiling type cheese dish? Or better yet one of those nacho cheese pumps?

Well, the thing is - We are going to blow shit up. Therefore we need wood to light the shit up with...

Well, I guess it's not NECESSARY. But if we don't have a campfire at night, what are we going to gather and get drunk around?
(Sentence recast for believers in the nonexistent "no ending clauses with prepositions" rule, up with which I personally do not put: But if we don't have a campfire at night, around what are we going to gather and get drunk?)

cyanide-laced grape flavored Kool-Aid, with a dash of a sedative seems to be drink of choice with cults.

I understand there are some parking lots around.

I'm bring enough wood to burn in a household size bar-b-q pit for 8-10 hours at minimum. 4 apple boxes full of wood, possible another 2 more boxes.
For those who are not bringing wood I found two guys around the Salton Sea area who would deliver us Firewood
Gary 760-574-7277
1st guy is based out of Palm Springs. Will deliver a half a truck load of fire wood for $170 ($130 + $40gas) or a full truck load for $220(no gas charge). He say it is not a full or half cord, because he would get a ticket if it was over the bed sides of his truck, but close. He will deliver same day.
Sal 760-457-5022
2nd guy is based out of Brawley. Will deliver a full cord of Pine for $250 or oak for $300. He has a trailer and will deliver two cords for $500. Needs a couple of days notice to split the wood.
I would assume because of limited vehicle space. Many people are not going to be able to bring wood. This might be a way for those who can't bring wood to get together, put in some money and purchase some fire wood. $5 each of 42 people could get the 1st guy out with a cord.
