I seriously need to get my ass below the Cajon Pass.
No work is bad enough, but Jack Shit to do just compounds this even further.

If I knew I could fight you last night I would have figured out some way to be at the ride.
Post it on "add a ride" next time you are available for fighting.
I love taking you seriously.

Best people's ride i have ever been on. The circle of death on highland was the pinnacle of the night. i mean, car stuck in the middle of making a left turn surrounded by, i want to say, a hundred + riders most off their bikes with bikes raised to the sky and a mesmerizing smaller group going round and round. complete and utter chaos. i honestly felt the world was going to end at that point.
then the movie scene chase by the cops in the parking structure... again, complete and utter chaos. i just remember seeing everyone react at the same time.... shit was like fire. not sure who noticed them first but they were quickly followed by the rest of the group. i believe all 100+ of us made it out of that shit in less than a minute. shit was insane. down the stairwells or riding down... awesome!!
and to top it off... the show of community, of unity, of us against them that the riders exemplified when one of our own was harassed by the boys in blue...
this is what keeps me coming.
quick note: funderstorm rocked. as they always do. they sound a lot sharper now.... de-evolution is the new evolution.
also, loved to shout out chynna, eddieboy, ray and jose for starting that little camp fire just outside the tunnel (and by the benches we previously occupied) to keep us warm through the night. it felt like an episode of bear grylls.
long ride home.... but we finally made it.

did anyone see that girl hit those chains head on in that parking structure when the cops came and everyone took off?
it looked like she almost was going to go over her bars
ONEwayRIDA01.31.09 - 2:58 pm
reply
Yeah, she was braking but skidded into the chains. It was close, she almost flipped over her bike.
It was funny to see one lone cop car trying to get 200 bicyclists to clear the parking structure.
skd01.31.09 - 3:12 pm

even funnier to see that cop car force that many cyclists through a red light into oncoming traffic and then nearly hit a group in the middle of an intersection at 20+ mph.

Everybody goes into a speedy-retreat when one, lone patrol car comes rolling around the corner?
With a group like that, why even bother going that fast?
Just take off real slow and act like, "so, you're the police and we're leaving, whatcha going to do?"
Sort of like that Mosey where the Vernon PD tried to block us in, but we all took off steadily like they didn't exist.

This ride was EPIC! Thanks to the crazy guy in the front on the megaphone who led us to the parking lot near the tar pits. What a great ride.

haha, definitely a fun ride. my dumb ass ran into those chains too, but i did a good job of recovering and not crashing.

did you guys see how he came in to the top of the parking structure? i swear, he came in all fast and did a quick stop at an angle and turned his sirens on. what a loser. trying to act all cool.
coldcut01.31.09 - 7:01 pm
reply
Well, yeah. That's what scared everyone, I assume. Most times it's NOT that dramatic when we leave when a cop comes. That was insane.

some kid ran into the arm that blocks your way into the structure. shit was funny as fuck. surprisingly, he didnt even fall off his bike. shit just bounce off him.

That must have been funny to see this cop. I left after the first stop. Anyone know the mileage between the start and the supermarket we stopped at to get beer?

You missed quite a display. I'm still not sure if he was being a bag of douche or if he was trying to play super-trooper.

We rode approx 3.5 miles between the Rite-Aid and the Ralphs on Sunset. At least thats what gmaps sayz...
Good Ride, I got almost 35 miles in last night & met some cool first time riders too.

ya that cop was hauling ass
some one yelled 5-0 and everyone just started booking it
that was so fun lol

woah almost 4 miles between beer stops! How do you guys manage???
LOFL!!!
BTW, when you guys see people complain about not being the old way. This is what they are referring to. I personally know 5 people that peeled off before the first stop, or at the first stop. And these were all peeps that been around the scene for quite some time. So when you wonder what happened to the regulars, well you'll know now.

THAT NIGHT WAS AWESOME! Even thought I felt as I was being scolded by some riders....And not in that constructive way.
rbi...TACKLE ATTACK!
That parking structure was badass. And the fact that Sarah led us astray. AWAY from the LACMA lights killed me. Bwahahahaha. The cops and angry Chynna. :O And the epic travel to FUNDERSTORM. All worth it. ANd I'm STILL NOT HOME!
THANK YOU PEOPLE'S RIDE for taking me to the west side. And leaving me here.

Facebook event says there will be a group breaking away from LACM at between 9:00pm and 9:15pm depending on where they are located and riding to the Peoples ride.

So who's this "guy fawkes"?
No one ever stepped up to say who he is.
hmmmmm wonder if it was one of the organizers of this people's ride?
hmmmmmm....
OK so who's making all these accounts over there?
User102.27.09 - 3:54 pm

if lacm leaves at 7, and rides around for 3 hours, i don't see why it can't meet up with the people's ride at 10. you could cover alot of miles in 3 hours if you keep the stops minimal, and just for regrouping. it's not like the people's ride leaves right at 10 anyway.
meh.

Take a look at the bylaws of CM. It states that under no circumstances does the CM ride to a People's Ride.
Section 14.43, Paragraph 4, article A, subsection 18, division 3.1e, subset (a)

It's unclear how many people will be going at the new sart time and how many will show up at 7:30 after the "Real" LACM has already left.
I for one will be leaving LACM around 9:30 to go to the peoples ride. They never leave before 10pm....never.....that should leave plenty of time toget over to the Rite Aid.
