Here's a vid my brother filmed while completing tech-school at Sheppard AFB in Texas.
It's routine, but life literally stops on the base when the national anthem is played.
Freaky.
That's done while the raising or the lowering of the flag. All traffic does stop on base. The soldiers get out of their cars and stand and salute the flag too.
When my bro was moving about the base, the S/F's were pretty anal about traffic laws.
Go an inch over the posted speed limit, get a ticket.
Fail to stop at a stop-sign, base-driving privileges suspended for at least month.
In fact, one airman in his training squadron there was DUI'd off base and the entire squadron was punished for his actions!!
