So, I'm finally going to do the donut ride that I've been talking about forever. (No, not the one they did last year. A different one. A slightly less bad idea one.) And it is going to be a Team Midnight Ridazz training ride. Of all things. But everyone is welcome. Approximately 50 miles; approximately 5 donut stops. Brisk pace, but not a hustle. Expect hills.

Actually that bad idea ride was in June of 07.

Fatty here
May I suggest you stop by the Yum Yum Doughnuts on Woodley and Nordhoff in the North Hills Section of SFV.
The doughnuts at that particular Yum Yum are insanely tasty. I think they should be outlawed.
There is a brutal hill heading one block north of Nordhoff on Woodley at Plummer next the VA Hospital.

Donut Prince!!!!
A true story:
Mom & sister fly in from Toronto to visit me in L.A. I show them around the neighborhood and say "oh! we should go to Donut Prince".
My sister says "oooh... yeah I could go for some donuts."
Then mom says "Oh, they have donuts there???"
*LAUGHTER*
"Uhhh... mom it's called Donut Prince, of course they have donuts"
"OH... I thought you were taking us to see Donut PRINTS"
???!!!!
*MORE LAUGHTER*
To this day... I don't quite understand what was going on in my mom's head.

@widowmaker
All Austin seemed to want to give me was hippie muffins. So I took the hippie muffins. And I ate them. And they were good. But they were not donuts. No.

Oh man, this
happened? I guess the downside of staying off the internet is missing stuff like this. Bummer.
I did get 2 free donuts on my impromptu century Wednesday night, though. When I stopped at a donut shop in Oxnard, I didn't have enough change to get both a coffee and a donut, so the donut cook (donut chef? donut artist? donutista?) gave me a donut for free. When I told him I was riding to LA, he said "you'd better take two."
Donut shops are the best. Glad to hear the ride went well.

I think it is a safe bet that there will be a DONUTZZ 2.
I know a lot of people would like to go out to Donut Man (myself included), so that will probably be next.

my favorite donut shop in LA is still California Donuts on 3rd and New Hampshire, followed in a close 2nd by Ms. Donuts in Echo Park.

CA Donuts #21 was our first stop on Saturday -- less than a mile into the ride. Mmmmm.
Will have to check out Ms. Donut at some point.
A truly great donut ride would probably start around 1 or 2 in the morning when most donut shops actually have donuts hot from the oven. Once it gets a little later in the year, warmer at night......
