Hey I'm pretty new to the Midnight Ridazz forum. Is it cool to post a search for hard to find old parts? I need a cog for a Suntour freehub they haven't made for twelve years to keep a cool old bike on the road. Watcha think?

I don't really know what a free hub is....but I have some old suntour freewheels. What exactly do you need?...a cog for a freewheel? What size?
I might be willing to sell you a good suntour freewheel for a reasonable price. Most of mine are near block. But, I have one with a fairly good range.

By freehub I mean cassette type hub as opposed to a freewheel type hub. I have a " X C Pro" 8 speed cassette hub in a really nice wheel and I cracked the 12 tooth cog that screws on to the freehub and holds the rest of the cogs in place. This is mountain bike gear from '92 or '93. They quit making the mountain stuff in '94 or so. Sounds like you have road bike freewheel style parts. Thanks for the offer of help.

Try these guys:

I tried to look up your parts on their online ordering system, but it just said it was "Old Stock".
Don't know if that means they still have some or what.
It's best to just give them a call - they're located in Massachusets, but they specialize in hard to find parts.

Yeah, Ray. Sorry for the confusion. I guess I can't really help you with your predicament, but I hope you find a solution. I've found a couple fixes to 'older bike' problems on Sheldon Brown's links. Maybe the one posted above will help you find what you're looking for.

Now that you mention it, I think I have seen these types of hubs. And, I think Sachs was doing the same sort of thing, and maybe for longer than Suntour....it could be that Sachs has a part that will fit with your free hub...it could be the same threading.
(They've been bought out by SRAM, but who know's....maybe it'll work.)
Just a guess....

If anyone has a pair of Shimano aero road brake levers from the late 80s early 90s, I'm looking for a set. Must have the hoods with them. Or if you have a set of hoods for a Dura Ace BL-7401 levers I could use that instead.
Thanks
