People playing instuments while riding bikes? Sounds scary. And rad. Stop locations chosen for their unique sonic attributes, I hope?
I've actually always wanted to see a music/noisemaking ride. I mean, megaphones are great and all, but (if I may blaspheme for a moment) there's more to life than megaphones, y'know?
You can't "claim" that shit, you're not patenting a Cosmic Cooker or trade-marking The Quantum Everything. You have to make that shit HAPPEN, or someone else will do it before you.
Pick the date for it NOWWwwwwwwwww... I dare you to plan it for June 12th, as the official 2nd Friday ride.
Soooooo.... With Barley's Vast knowledge of the music scene in LA I think we could be "INSTRUMENTAL" in making it happen?!
I've got Pier Pressure the following day... so any help would be loved.
I just gave you the heads up jonnyboy. Real native americans feel Very Very strong about there culture. If yaxchim would have seen you parading in it, he would yank that shit off your head. So i didnt threaten you, i actually did you a favor....

to be honest,,, having instruments on a ride that people drink on, and people showing off playing while they're riding is totally not safe. there's gonna be crashes.
Indeed. Anything that could cause people to swerve while they're in a large pack is probably a bad idea, even if people aren't drinking. Bells and whistles could be OK while riding, though.
tired argument. also, your grammar is terrible.
yaxchim is central american (im assuming). what jonny was wearing was probably more cherokee.
you should threaten the next kid dressed like an indian you see at halloween. you wont.
That's what I was thinking, too... so... First one to put MIDNIGHT RIDAZZ: in the name of their ride gets it, right? Or do you have to run it by Roadblock first? I forget.
...I thought it was just the first one to post it. Then again, I'm totally new to this. Someone make something happen for June! I just staked a claim for October, although I'll change it if I didn't get the right approvals.

i still say DAZED AND CONFUSED RIDE.
its in june, and thats around the time schools get out.
you can dress like wooderson and get away with scamming on underage girls while blasting foghat.
a 1970s ride has never been done before, unlike star wars which is rehashed.
Why do you assume to know anything about me or my friend Yaxchim? Hes not central american and i DARE you to tell him hes not Native American. You act tuff, i wanna see you tell him hes not.. That will make my day.

Good for you tyler that ur part native.Yaxchim is really into his culture. He goes to those rituals and cleansings on the REZ hes from. Ive had conversations with his tribe members and they have ALL expressed how they feel really disrespected if they see a non Native wearing a Head dress. But like you say this is an old arguement and was squashed by me and jonnyboy awhile back. I think he brought it up as a joke and then you came into the conversation. Why do u persist in being such an annoying pest? On days were not argueing, i just skip ur comments. im not intrested in what you have to say. Do me a favor and stay away from me and cease from addressing me online. I dont like you and i Never want to meet you in person. Is there anything you didnt understand?

You know what Chris.
From my point, It seems as though you're taking this cancer thing really well.
Being posotive will surly help you get trough this.
It's so ironic that I've seen you guys standing by each other no moar than 15 feet away (free throw distance) on moar than one occassion. Probably even heard each other's conversation and thought nothing of it.
from my understanding of it the user that posted the star wars ride registered onto the forums in may, has had zero posts to date, and has yet to update the "more info coming soon" ride description...fishy?

I was just talking out my ass and throwing ideas around, but it's cool that this idea was taken into consideration.
I'm going to do what I have to and see if I could get down there without a problem, but another thing that could be added to the ride are any C & W clubs, spots, bars,.etc that might be around the downtown area.
Unfortunately, only places where I live and places in the IE seem to have a known, abundance of "Roadhouse" like places where boots are scooted and tears fall into beers.
Perhaps a "lasso tha jackass" contest could come into play.

LOL... well, I've got the hair, no problem. But I would need to borrow the lingerie from Danny Zuko circa the first Rocky Horror ride... (I think I'll pass.)

I'll be supporting to avoid doing anything with this star wars ride. There's just too many things I don't like about it. Someone no one knows is posting it. It conflicts with the traditional MR ride night. We had a star wars ride less than a year ago didn't we? Finally, this would be the third star wars themed ride if I'm not mistaken.
Sorry count me out on supporting this star wars ride. Maybe if was another night, it wouldn't be such an issue. Even then, I doubt I'd join it.

Yeah these people that volunteer to do the ride, then aren't on the ball doesn't do much good either. That was the problem last month. The details don't get posted till a few days before the ride. Here we are 4 days before the date, and there's no details on anything. It's not like we didn't discuss this problem early enough. This thread here was started over three weeks ago.
So what's happening organizers?

The last, memorable MR 2nd Friday ride I was on was Fuzzbeast's own, Medieval Ride.
There seemed to be considerable planning up the ass on that one, hell, I even recall stirrings about it months in advance.
If I were closer, planning would be one of my ideal ways of contributing, but those that are closer to the epicenter should take point early.
Not trying to name names or point fingers, but I'm just getting some facts off my chest that have been on it for quite some time.
I'm still working on this, I promise. I've just had almost no internet time the past few days since my family's been in town. The one thing I know I'll need help with is actually leading the ride, since I messed up and will actually be in Portland this Friday. I'm told this won't be the first ride with an absent ride leader, so I think we can still make it happen.
Don't worry, none of that rant was directed at you.
I'm just looking at the bigger picture of how things seem to be flailing in some departments.
As I type this banter, I make daily trips down to the office to inquire about in-week positions.
Nothing yet, but hopefully that guy with the cushy, M-F swing shift gets sloppy.
in re: to user1 I do agree, no cherries should ever lead 2nd friday, especially since they are starting it at 'Walgreens' OG Ridazz kno that spot, while not the original start, is hallowed ground. Well the Pioneer lot is anyway. The Wallgreens is next door. At least this star wars ride isnt claiming the MR name. But taking the date and start spot is sacrilege.
nocturnal cyclists are organizing the Star Wars ride.... lame, they're trying to take over everything. sunday ride, thursday ride, now the 2nd friday ride too.
but then again on the other hand, if nobody else is stepping up for this one, and the nocturnal people wanna do it, why not let them? But hosting three rides in one week is kind of grabby, and IF they are the hosts they shouldnt do so anonymously. Star Wars theme is played out tho.
Okay so. here's the deal. I just got rid of my family (finally). I now will be making time to plan the ride. I want to make the ride fit the theme, with stops at historical sites, etc. Basically, imitating the RWNN Punk Ride. I'm thinking of starting at Olvera St.- is there any reason not to?
C'mon you guys- you offered help, and now I'm asking for it. Is there anyone who can lead the ride on Friday if I give you a route, spoke cards, and music trailers?
Dump this stupid thread and start a new one for the Ride
Give it a name and a ride listing if you havn't all ready and the Ridazz will be in full effect.
I promise.
That's my plan as soon as I have a confirmed meetup spot. I rarely leave the Valley, so I want to make sure it's a good start point. Don't really want to get hassled from the beginning.

Chiparaki is the place that Alex Thompson wouldn't let you into on 3/28. It's also the place where my bike was stolen on the Toy Ride. Good times, good times...
I was hoping to let U1 stew in his own sarcasm a bit before revealing to him that he's already been there twice. correction 3 times ... he helped me scout it out for the all city toy ride.
