The night the Ridazz wore their wolf suits and made mischief of one kind
And another...
That very night in the Ridazz' city a forest grew...
On Friday, October 9, 2009, come join us on a journey to where the wild things ride.
Bring your lights, spare tubes, and your WILD RUMPUS!
The ocean will tumble by with a private boat for Ridazz at 8 p.m. at the fountain at Riverside Dr. and Los Feliz Blvd.
And we sail off into the night at 9 p.m.
TENTATIVE ROUTE
note: this route has no store stops. Bring any water and other supplies you may need to the start.

Last time I read this book was before alot of the youngsters were born.
Why is it becoming so blown out into the mainstream all of a sudden?
I'm guessing it has to do with the younger generations being overloaded with that extra amount of "Pizazz" that myself and others never had.
Okay, who's going to be the little boy and who's going to be the main monster?

yeah... the fact that this movie is being made is a bad sign
movie industry knows that this is a very important and personal book to a lot of people
they know that most people from 20-30 years old are going to watch this movie regardless of its quality

it SHOULD be good. i saw a short documentary last week about Maurice Sendak and Spike Jonze. they spent like 4 years on and off just hanging out and gathering ideas. in the end it got Sendak's seal of approval which is nice to know. it seems to be a really genuine movie but, of course, we'll see.
also, Maurice Sendak is really quite the character. I'm sure the short doc will be in the expanded DVD edition whenever that comes out.

Harry will not be at the start of the ride. He has dinner plans and he wont be getting out till around 9.
So that means we won't have the trailer. Unless there is SOME way you can figure out how to get it. Serious long shot though seeing that Harry is going to be in Hollywood till 9.

So much fun! Thanks for bringing a MR ride to the valley again! It's been a looong time. Excellent route and love the riding. Also, thanks to User1, JJ, and Ben (Mr.. "I would've fixed 5 flats by now") w/ my flat. Dang pinch flats...
Anyone know if the dude that slammed into the back of that car that stopped is doing? Man... that lady just freaking slammed on her breaks... worst thing to do.

Fucking brian mike john and pete you fucks left me with a flat, through fucking griffith park. it was dark cold and scary. i could have been eaten by the coyotes. lol......hey i want to thank the homie that was wearing a cerritos college shirt, that dude was triple A on a bike and the other homie with loud horn on a beach cruiser...u guys rock! the ride was bad ass....

Thanks for putting the ride together guys. Was an awesome route and great night. Accept the part where we stopped for two hours. The empty valley streets were really chill to ride on. Kinda reminds me of riding in OC. Loved going to the dam. Favorite spot last night.
Bent, where did you? I was fixing my flat, and you just disappeared! Hope Harry, the wanker is doing good. He took a pretty good spill, as did Tim.

Louisiana is real.

to be honest, i'm not 100% sure what happened. i know you slid on the water and i'm not sure if i swerved when that happened to avoid you or if i just slipped as well. things went dark for a minute there, so somebody that was behind us probably knows what happened a lot better than me.

Actually, I stopped six inches short of hitting Harry's rig and then I felt a bump from behind and then I find you lying against the back of my front tire!!

This was by far my funnest ride to date. Thanks July. Anything that starts at 7:30 PM, on a pre-ride to the ride, includes fuzzy suits, grilled cheese trailers, and cuddle puddles - and ends with tacos and nachos at 6 AM at Que Ricos is a win. Lucky no one got really hurt. And luckier that someone had electrical tape for Tim's head... I'm glad someone went back for Sam later.

Great ride, always wanted to see bike polo and those grilled cheese were amazing!
Another accident to report (we ride a 1972 tandem)- 2am- we were headed up the LA River bike path (we had some wheel trouble so we turned around) and a group of fixies were coming towards us. One of them was riding on the wrong side of the path talking to his friend and did not hear me yelling or see my BRIGHT-ASS head light. We hit head on, we were probably doing 15, and he was probably going about the same speed. Good thing the chain link fence was there to keep my stoker from sliding down the embankment. We were all able to ride/limp away but people need to pay attention, even at 2am when you think there is nobody else out there.

Me and Sarah are happy you guys enjoyed it. I'm glad the polo players got to play for a while before the lights went out (which is why I wanted to make it the first stop) Balboa lake and the subsequent damn adventures were fun.
Thanks to the people making the grilled cheese samiches... really awesome of them!
