Loud Bike Bell

The bike bell in the pic is loud enough (sometimes, no guarantees!) to make heads inside rolled-up car windows turn. More than once a person in a car rolling too fast toward me has turned their head in my direction and slowed down after I ring the bell loudly.
The upside-down mounting arrangement might look funky, but it allows all 4 fingers to stay on the brake lever while hitting the bell lever with the thumb.

Where can you find that bell, John?

Joe, I got it at my Local Bike Store, Spoke 'n Wheel in the West SFV. I don't recall any ID info, it was just there amongst the other smaller bike bells. I'll drop by in the next few days to ask for specific info on it.

Ohhh I picked up that bell at a garage sale in Boston.. I lovingly call it the 'ding-dong' bell, since that's the type of ring it makes. It is definitely a very sturdy, robust and loud one, though a bit heavy. It's an unusual enough ring to get people's attention too.

I think Bike Oven still has a couple of the Arpan "Made in India" version in stock ..
They sound almost identical (I own both).

Yeah these bells are the shit. I had one and wore it out. I got mine at the cycle swap meet here in LB. I've seen them on ebay too.

I'm hoping Trickmilla will pick up that Bike Bell ensemble thing again, or maybe we can just have a bell themed ride?
