Largest Parade of Bicycles

I was hoping one of you could explain this to me. I looked up some bike records in Guinness and this one came up. It says the Longest Parade of Bicycles is 140.

We've outdone that by quite a bit and i'm sure Midnight Ridazz has been outdone in other parts of the country or world.
Anyone have any insight?

And here is where UCD broke that record. We've almost doubled UCD. All they did was 913 bikes for 2.4 miles through campus.

Speaking of Davis, I'm working now on organizing "Davis Ridazz" for September 14. I have to be up there and since I'll be missing my first MR in two years, I figured I better put something together and try to show them how we do it "Midnight Ridazz Style".

Guiness has stopped, for the most part, going after records on shit anymore - particularly for the more mundane such as this. No offense, but on the scale of weird shit that 10 year old kids go ga-ga over when ordering the World Book of Records from that color newsprint mail-order catalog for kids that get distributed in elementary school classrooms around the U.S., bicycles in a parade is not one of them. Length of toenails, however, is disgustingly one of the records they WILL follow.

I always thought the traffic circle in LB would be a great spot to set the record for the largest circle of death. And what makes this attractive too is that the grassy area can only really be accessed either by risking your life dodging cars or by bike. Prefect for having a BBQ at!

The outer circle is not as appealing as you might think. The outer circle is not continuous, it's broken up by the streets flowing into the inner circle. The inner circle is probably around a half mile in circumference. It's kind of trippy being on the grassy part since hardly anyone ventures to it.

To be classified as a parade for record-setting purposes, wouldn't the bicycles have to be ridden in formation, unlike MR or CM?

you guys think just the same as me! I wanted to come up with a big ride, and just call it the "big ass summer ride" This will be our august sat ride, in hopes of increasing our numbers!

I'd be down for a Long Beach Circle of Death ride. I could put together a bitchin route and shit. I just don't want to be doing the whole fuckin thing myself, know what I mean? What would be cool is if this could be a yearly thing with ridazz from all points, afterall this is a major road, PCH and there's lots of free parking in the area. Having a BBQ at the end of the ride in the center would be the shit. All ridazz converge at the circle at the same time after rolling from different points. I would want to research what the deal is on this grassy area though. I've never seen anyone have a picnic there, which makes it a perfect spot!
