I feel ya, Tomato. We have been to Portland and Zoobombers and crew are awesome. But, Ridazz Camp Black Rock City will be probably be one of the most different years Burning Man has seen. The theme is Evolution. Fuzzbeast is working on an art grant. Ridazz Camp will be huge.
If you want to make portland trip happen, due it! On another thread though, please.
PC and Allan will go. I might too. We should go up to Portland when they have an event week.
There is little children there, I always thought it was such a serious physical task to handle. It really isn't. the only thing that you need to be on top of out there is WATER.
tickets went up to $240 already, end up around $250 each?! hurry up and get yours!!! the lower in price they are the easier they'll be to sell if you suddenly can't go. word to your mother.
i remember last year when you guy took off to burning man, there was soo much drama and fighting going on here in LA and on the forums. I hope none of that goes on this year when we go.
We're working on the application for our theme camp this weekend. We need to get an approximate number of who is interested in going. If you haven't already put your name on the list on the ridazzcamp google group, and you MIGHT be interested in going (you don't have to have already purchased a tix to put your name on the list)....let us know so that we can reserve enough space for everyone interested.
We'll also be having a Burning Man Awareness night soon for people who might be interested but don't know what it is.
Yeah, I know that money's a real issue this year, but seriously, if you've ever wanted to go to BM you should come with Midnight Ridazz Camp. You'll be camping with an organized theme camp (in its third year), and you'll be camping with people who have done Burning Man for like 7 years and can help you figure it out.
No one I've ever talked to who has gone to BM has complained about the expense...after their trip.
We have our own Midnight Ridazz ride out there, bike blessings, a jump ramp, we host DIY bike repair, we'll have our own camp bar and we're going to have a Party In My Pants event.
The dream is to get other bike groups involved...to have our own bike city...how awesome would that be?
The current list of people going to Burning Man... 53 days away.

Please join the google group, and lot of things are being planned. Please be part of the planning. Part of the fun is participation. All of the fun is being there.
I have constructed a bar for the camp - 72" x 31" bar top that we covered in black formica laminate, glossy red front and sides with the Midnight Ridazz logo in black on the front (the same logo we used to cut the burn barrels).
A 20'x10' carport carport shade structure will act as the roof and the walls of the bar. 4 old rims will be fashioned into chandeliers (with real candles, of course - SAFETY THIRD), spoke cards and pictures of Ridazz Camp ridazz and their close ridazz friends will adorn the walls, and christmas lights and one funky old-ass lamp will provide the ambient night lighting.
Top all of that off with tables made from wooden spools scattered around and seating galore, and a sound system to scream out our NOT-YOUR-RAVER'S-BAR soundtrack, and we are going to have one fucking rad camp bar - one that Midnight Ridazz can be seriously proud of.
ON TOP OF THAT, the bar will be open to the entirety of Black Rock City at least one night (perhaps more, depending on the mountain of booze I amass) during which everyone will be invited to stop by the bar and drink the Midnight Ridazz juices: Blood (vodka + cran), Sweat (Whiskey + lemonade), or Tears (rum + grapefruit), OR Vomit (a mix of all three).
AND YOU GUYS SERIOUSLY WANT TO MISS THIS SHIT?! Oh well. More liquor for me.
Midnight Ridazz Camp bar party description nearly done:
The Ladiezz of Midnight Ridazz Camp want you to drink their juices and party in their pants! Ms. Stephanie will pour to a "this-ain't-no-rave-bar-bitchezz" soundtrack of her choice, and The Raquel will open her pants up wide to all comers! Come have fun with the Midnight Ridazz. We ride bikezz. We’re evolved muthafuckazz.
(Author's note: The reference to being evolved is because the theme of Burning Man this year is evolution.)
In reading through this thread, I just saw this UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR by Rev. Joe Borfo: "Salton Sea was just a tiny example of what fun Black Rock City has to offer."
WTF? Salton Sea and Black Rock City can't even be compared!
Example (please watch past the slightly silly introduction) - I went to jr. high and high school with Johnny America, and this kid was constantly lighting shit on fire - now he can do it at Burning Man as ART:
i went to high sierra music festival this year it was the best fucking expieriance of my life. i dont know if im ready for a burning man yet though.. 2 weeks is hectic in the desert
@j4ybo It's only 1 week, unless you have early entrance to set up a registered theme camp (like Ridazz Camp), or you decide to stay after the entire place is disassembled (anyone can stay after, you just have to help with take-down, clean-up). I can't express how amazing / crazy the experience is. And I'm in no way shape or form a hippy. Or a raver.
AND IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED, FOLKS. 420 LAHARR NOW HAS A TICKET.
P.S. @Rev. Joe H., I think you and I know that LaHarr counts as at least 3 if not 4 Ridazz, not only for his sheer physical size, but the for the size of his AMAZINGNESS.
If you thought that Salton Sea was fun (which is 33times more than most of you put in anything that doesn't pay you...), wait until you see what I bring to Burning Man.
Wait until you see the weapons I make.
Wait until you see the Ridazz Camp Logo.
Wait until you see the Figure 8 of DEATH.
Wait until you... never go, because Burning sucks.
What:
Stop by Midnight Ridazz Camp for some potentially dangerous, likely drunken, and definitely fun battles on bikes: mini bike races, jousts, jump competitions, you name it. If it's on a bike and it involves blood, sweat, tears, and vomit, then it's happening.
Why:
Come have fun with the Midnight Ridazz. We ride bikezz. We’re evolved muthafuckazz.
as Captian of Team P.I.M.P., i offer Rev. Borfo to stay with us so he will have one less thing to worry about IF he decides to come to the city of Black Rock this year
Time to get moving Burners. So much time and so little to do. No,
strike that. Reverse it.
Almost a month away, its time to get together, meet, hang out and
figure out lots of loose ends. EVERYONE should come to this
meeting...even if you have been to BM since day one...even if you
haven't bought your ticket yet...even if you're not even sure you're
going...YOU SHOULD COME TO THIS MEETING.
We'll eat, drink beer at the patio of the Oinkster (they'll have
special cheap beer pitcher prices just for us).
We'll be discussing some unresolved stuff like, Early Entry, Head
Count, Camp Dues, Shower, Gray Water...and CAMP PARTIES and CAMP
GIFTS. We'll talk about events going on in our camp here in LA before
we hit the Playa. And we can answer questions that any newbies might
have. And we'll be talking about how YOU (yes, YOU), can still be
involved in our camp planning.
REMEMBER: BURNING MAN IS A GROUP EXPERIENCE--BE AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT
IN OUR CAMP.

@beet Barchopz is a lot of fun, fo sho. BUT. Barchopz is every month, and Burning Man is once a year. And Ridazz Camp at Burning Man? Fuck. It's going to be blood sweat tears vomit music bikes insanity.
Ridazz Camp meeting last night was RAD...it's so exciting to see just how many people will be joining us! I think we counted around 35 people (33?) at the meeting last night, and that did not include the locals who were unable to make it or the people from San Francisco, Austin, DC, Germany, and the many other out-of-towners who will join us as well!
Here is a 1 minute 24 second short from Burning Man that shows just one of the silly, very Midnight Ridazz-esque things you can do at Black Rock City: The Bunny Oath.

Midnight Ridazz Black Rock City - NEVERCLEVER'S BIRTHDAY MADNESS
09.4.09
When:
8p.m. - 10 p.m.
Where:
Midnight Ridazz Camp, Black Rock City
What:
We're celebrating Neverclever's birthday at Ridazz Camp Bar with - you guessed it! - a SHIT TON OF JACK DANIELS! Pre-party for the Caveman Ride, show off your pre-historic gear while we get COMPLETELY LOADED before our ride through the playa, and all in the name of Neverclever! NEVERCLEVER FIRST, SAFETY THIRD!
CALLING ALL FURRIES! CALLING ALL RABBITS! CALLING ALL HARES!
Join ANIMUS, Disorient, and The Billion Bunny March on Thursday evening (Sept 3rd) for an extraordinary journey. The sojourn begins with the traditional Billion Bunny March at 7pm. There will be cocktails and Bunnification from 5-7pm at BMIR at Center Camp, followed by the "march against humanity" to the Man. This year however there is a SPECIAL SURPRISE and from the Man we are leading all the rabbits directly to: THE BUDDHA BUNNY.
The Buddha Bunny (ANIMUS) is a 21 foot tall meditating rabbit, sitting in full-lotus position, just past the man. The project explores the nature of personal or spiritual evolution, and running up the bunny will be light sources corresponding to the chakras of the body. As the week evolves the rabbit will spiritually evolve, and each night a new chakra will light up until the final chakra is lit on Thursday at sundown, at which point The Buddha Bunny becomes “enLIGHTenedâ€. This "enlightenment" literally sets off a whole series of mind-blowing lighting effects that are set to original music, performance, and other high theatrics. In fact, all the lighting effects of The Buddha Bunny are controllable by the participants of the Billion Bunny March.
There is too much to do every night. We're hosting an event, ourselves, the same night that that happens... suuuuuuuuucks, so it means we're going to miss it...
SantaCon is also happening the same time... But we at least invited the Santas to our event... and the Zombies. So there will be Zombies, maybe Bunnies, but definitely Santas and Ridazz... expect TROUBLE.

there really is no barter... you can gift what you like but nothing is expected. it's all free
the only thing you can buy in cash is ice and coffee and coffee-like drinks (wussified coffees like frapacinno/machiato shits or whatever) at center camp
ice is sold at different locations
you'll be fine just have the main stuff ready:
good tent (playa dust gets EVERYWHERE) you don't want anything with windows or meshy roof
good sleeping bag (it will get really cold at night)
enough food and water for however long you plan on staying
bike, cheapy lock (people don;t generally steal, but someone who is fucked up might take the bike by mistake) LOTS of blinkies so people can see you late at night and not run you over
flashlight/headlight for when you are wandering about late at night and also for porta parties
extra batteries
goggles
bandanna or handkerchief for your face/nose
hat
sun block
wow i am listing everything that is already on those damn survival guides.
anyway, you'll be fine
make sure you take all the extra wrapping off your food before you pack to limit the amount of waste you have to burn and bring back home
hmmm...
clean clothes for your return home
oh! spray bottle - mix water and some vinegar and spray your hands and feet. the playa dust is very high in alkaline content. trying to keep the Ph neutral will be very good for you.
lots of butt wipes (BURNABLE) to wash yo nuts with. you can;t discard these in the poro-parties
see you there (if i am around!) i hope i get to see some of the people of our camp. a lot of surprise last minute additions are making me happy!
oh yeah - jack and coke party for neverclever's birthday BEFORE the official MR ride is at our camp.

Who took pics? I NEED TO SEE PICS!!! I'm already suffering from serious re-entry depression. After 10 days on the playa, this place (the default world) doesn't feel quite right.
I'm riding down
Gerlack highway
Big ol' nasty Fluffer by my side.
We are the Midnight Ridazz Black Rock City
And we were born to ride.
Put on your goggles,
Raise up that tarp,
Crank up that megaphone, baby,
Don't let the nuisance stop.
We're going riding 'till we just can't ride anymore.
From the center camp
To the temple
From space cowboys
To the deep end
Everybody
Very dusty
Because the wind is blowing all the time.
Looks like they set the man on fire.
I LOVE THE PLAYA.
We love it!
I LOVE THE PLAYA.
Look at those hipppies
Look at them queens
Look at that Black Rock Ranger,
He's just eating beans!
Look at them Lamplighters,
Ain't nothing like them nowhere.
Third Street and Esplanade
We love it!
9:15 and Fossil, baby! WE LOVE IT!!
Trash fence, we love it, we love it, we love it!
I LOVE THE PLAYA!
I LOVE THE PLAYA!
We love it!
I LOVE THE PLAYA!
We love it!
I LOVE THE PLAYA!
We love it!
i did some research, apparently after a head injury your body dedicates many resources to healing it. so you're not supposed to drink because if you do you get extra super duper fucked.
whoops...

If you guys see a burner in the next couple of days, give them some space. They're readjusting back to reality. The best thing to do at this point is to just agree with them. Let them know you agree that the world's problems could be solved if we just dropped acid and went out to the desert. They maybe a bit down too. It's just part of decompression. You'll go through the same next year.
can we have a pancakes and pictures party? with soft rock? lol. w/ projector status. i can't wait to go home and upload my photos too. i miss the yurt!
Did everyone get a spokecard? Did you lose one? I have a few "Don't Fuck with Evolution" spokecards left. Also, I'd like to get some to Ridazz and friends who weren't camped with us like Mike Bike. email is lo des proto sites at gmail com if you'd like one or can forward one to Mike Bike.
ohhh that's right. there was bacon on a cardboard that someone made. it's all so hazy, it's coming back in bits and pieces. is this what it's like recovering from a coma? lol.

Next year I'm bringing a bagless cordless vacuum. It will be like having the equivalent of a lawnmower for the playa.
I invite anyone to join in on the vacuum parade. Time to take care of those pesky soft spots! Then just dump the full vacuum canister into road holes and add a little water = playa repavement system!!
We had talked about a velodome for mini bike races for this year, but the project became a little daunting. Somebody make it happen!
If someone can't make it Sunday, we'll do something else for sure in addition to it. I don't know how many of you met Jet Fuel from Gigsville, but he's a super cool guy and has invited us to his house for his birthday again. We did it last year and it was our own little decompression, and it was rad. There was clown porn and pickled eggs.
Sorry for not getting back to everyone last night, it was a pretty crazy day getting back into the work groove. I talked to Ben, and we actually have a family commitment Sunday afternoon. Rather than have to worry about hustling everyone out to get to our event, what does everyone think about doing it Saturday? 11 am? That way anyone can hang out as long as they want and it can be open for other people to drop by later. Thoughts?
This weekend doesn't look like it's going to work out so well.....how does next weekend look for everyone? If not next weekend, maybe a week night next week? Wednesday?
Why don't we figure out the decom stuff via email instead of on here. Is everybody on the ridazz camp list? If not, email me and I'll try to get some planning going:
If you're not on the Ridazz Camp email list, get on it! That is where the decompression planning is happening.
Here is the latest. After this, it's all happening via email:
Ridazz Camp Decompression: Saturday, September 19, early afternoon to crank mob time
Location: TBD - If anyone has any ideas, let me know. I'm assuming that some people want to do crank mob from start to finish? If not, one option would be to find out where crank mob is going (my guess is downtown, but Dak can ask Richie) and meet up with it at the end. Otherwise, we need a good in-betweeny location so the westsiders don't have to ride all the way east and back.
Pancakes
Pictures
Bacon
Ice cream
Booze (pickletinis, blood sweat tears, in yer mouf margaritas, ?)
Megaphones!!!
Whatever you want to contribute, make it happen!
Ben and Sara hosted a rad pancakes and pictures decompression day yesterday - it was so much fun looking at Ben and Sara's photos and hearing the stories behind them.
This coming Saturday, September 19, I would like to do a part 2 - for the people who couldn't make it yesterday, and for the people (like me) who want to do it again!
PLAN -
-- Start at Ridge Way at NOON for more pictures / videos, which will be accompanied by something delicious...perhaps the brunch of champions: pickletinis and bacon and ice cream?
-- Move to Echo Park for some annoying music, megaphones, and maybe some mini bike madness, depending on how energentic we all feel, and I will probably mix up some blood, sweat and tears to quench our thirst at the park.
-- Those of us who are attending the last CRANK Mob can roll to Pan Pacific Park, which I believe is the start of the night CRANK Mob ride.
Feel free to email me directly if you need Ridge Way's address, or for anything else. If you want to bring something to eat / share / do, That Would Be Great.
I've been missing playing on the Playa today, now that I've ceased feeling the effects of DUSS Mob... I was in a toxic shock I think...
I wish I had caught yesterday's fest, I just didnt know about it in time...
Is anyone here going to the "Official" LA Decompression? Anyone ever been? It sounds pretty popular, no? Anybody else think its stupid to PAY $15 to go to Dockweiller? Anyone else want to storm it?
I'm not so interested in the official decompression - from what I've heard, it's mostly ravers, and not even ravers with enough sense of adventure to go to Burning Man.
Go to San Diego! There's Tour de Fat, AND / OR a couple of us are setting up a ride / guerrilla Sprockettes performance. I'll bump the Sprockettes thread.
RIDAZZ CAMP DECOMPRESSION, next Saturday at noon. Starts at Ridge Way, moves to Echo Park. Some of us will ride out to the start of the night time CRANK Mob ride.
