there were a lot of really awesome, hard working people on that production who made sure we were comfortable and Bob really stepped it up. after Kelly's catastrophic fuckup with the money, you stepped it up and made sure that the extras got paid, and without any bullshit. i hope some of your newer crew members learn from this experience.
Bob, you're awesome.
and Jared Leto was really nice. i hope he still comes on rides with us. even though im not a fan of his music, i'll so buy him a beer.
talk to Lauren. she will get you paid. it was ultimately kelly's fault that all this happened and i'm sure she wont be working with those people after this production is over.
Why are you still here? You complain and then say this is the reason you don't come to this site anymore. So leave. Stick to Facebook and you won't have to deal with this.
I am all down for serious threads like helping people with stolen bikes, or helping with the posters or setting up rides, but this Leto thing is a fucking joke and should be treated that way.
Ride on.

@foldie
talk to lauren about getting your money back and spread the word. i tried to round up as many frowning ridazz as i could, but a lot of people had already left by the time bob showed up with the cash.
@user1
its a good thing you're not a math teacher. thanks for shitting all over a positive thread.
For the record I did not participate in this steaming pile of crap, but I do represent the ridazz out there that got ripped off. From the start of the original thread this thing smelled funky. But hey the past is the past. I hope everyone got out what they wanted to get. I know I did.

they treated us well and made sure we were comfortable. one woman (Kelly) is solely responsible for many of us getting underpaid. they werent trying to rip us off; Kelly just completely failed at her job.
once the people in charge realized that there were a bunch of angry ridazz who had been underpaid, they went out of their way to apologize and pay us.
But they should have been clear from the start. If you read the original post there was confusion about getting paid. I personally tried to get information but they never clarified the situation.

I was there for quite a while and talked to jared a bit and brought two tall bikes for myself and my buddy to ride but had to split around 9 so I didnt get anything but a red bull- When did the money handout happen? I wonder if I go tonight if I may be compensated
personally, i got an email offering me $100. then i got shitfaced drunk in front of a cop and rode up and down a hill.
that said, the production wanted to bring as many extras as possible for as little money as possible. that's just how the industry works. every talk show audience is filled with a bunch of tourists watching the show for free and even more professional seat fillers doing it for minimum wage.
if you're going to hate, don't hate on the production for that; hate on the industry, or hate on Kelly for going home without finishing her job.
They could have helped out MR. Why didn't they start a ride and talk to riders? Why don;t they promote the MR web site on twitter or facebook and talk about how cool the community is? They have 300,000 fans on FB and a lot of followers on twitter. Think of how many people they could have introduced to biking instead of just their event.
Bottom line is Leto wanted to use something cool and when he is done he will be on his way to something else cool.

OK you math expert. What does 12 hours at minimum wage equate to? And you brought the negativity to YOUR OWN thread before I did! LOL Anyways I don't consider demanding a fair pay for some of the ridazz that only got a p&j and a redbull negative, do you?

"Effective January 1, 2008, the minimum wage in California is $8.00 per hour. " Source
12 * 8 = 96
So $100 is about right. Come on, dude. At least this math makes sense, unlike the integration techniques based on completely irrational and incorrect physics of water displacement that I'm supposed to be working on right now.

I had a blast riding with a whole bunch of ridazz I knew, ridazz I got to know better, and ridazz I just met. I also enjoyed our frequent impromptu dance parties and hating on the groupies who were totally fucking out of place on the cruisers provided to them. Yeah, $100 for 12 (ok, 13) hours seems like the short end of the stick, but we stood around doing jack shit for at least a third of the time, got free food, and got to see Richtotheie rock the FUCK out of Kabuki Sky.
Also, I had fun doing this riding thing. You know, two wheels, pedals, gears, chain, zoom zoom smash smash? Fuck the drama, fuck the politics, fuck your mother. I ride to have fun. I had fun and got paid for it. This is a blanket statement for everyone bitching and moaning on this thread: step away from the keyboard, put on some goddamn pants, and go riiiiiide.
Ok, I've been up for 37 hours straight. Goddamn kids, get off my lawn! It's my bedtime!
Haha touch. Good job with that one. Marino's math looks prettier, so I'm responding to his post.
Maybe you can explain how the force used to pump water out of a container is equal to its weight when the minimum force required to actually move an object on Earth must be GREATER than its weight? Everyone who's simultaneously enrolled in Calculus and Physics is giving this a big wtf? in my class. I can provide Free Body Diagrams if necessary.

we only worked for 11 hours with one hour for an unpaid lunch break=$102.
and i didnt get a pb+j. like everyone else, i got a delicious asada burrito. they also had big juicy angus beef burgers with avocado and caramelized onions.
mmmmmm.
anyhow, i suppose the crew wrote off the extra $2 as a paid lunch break, as per california law. now go back to making your birdhouse, you inadequate shop teacher.
i ate pb&j, animal crackers, cookies, cheez its, a few bottles of water, two cans of redbull, 4 tacos and a pepsi, and a bag of cheeto puffs. i also gave my angus burger to XL whether he knows it or not. no wonder i'm fat :-
In 10, or 20 years you'll be raking in the big bucks doing whatever you'll be doing with those skills.
Leto will be an old man at a truck stop begging for a muffin while I refuel my future Freightliner.
