This might be the best thing since the last thing. A knockout bike polo tournament, bbq and music in the last days of summer? Sweet.
And after the sun sets - Bikerowave's first Bike In Movie - either Quicksilver, Triplets of Belleville, or Rad (we'll know when those pesky Bikerowave volunteers finish voting).
You want me to stay on topic after posting a picture of a cute sniper in a window?! I’ll try… BikeRoWave volunteers voted to show eat!sleep?bikes! ( http://www.myspace.com/eatsleepbikes ). If some rogue volunteer tries to show something else like Triplets of Belleville you should riot.
Zach is still in NY isn't he. Whereas Alex is his friend, has photoshop, lives on the westside, has been occasionally seen at bikerowave and is more than dorky enough to do this.
"We could get Brian to wrestle Alex into a submission and admit that he likes kittens. It won’t prove anything but it’ll be fun."
Guys, I do actually watch some of the Westside threads here - even if I don't post. I've NEVER lost to Brian - he is my bitch
. . . or actually Friday night was the 2nd time that wrestling Brian left me with an injured knee - you pick which one you believe.
It ain't me, and there's no way it's Zack. It could be anyone with too much time on their hands and volunteer status at BRW . . . which is a lot of people - especially Franz!
I couldn’t help but giggle when Knittens told someone last night that we outed him. And I’m sure everyone around assumed he meant he’s gay. But really we outed him as someone who loves cute kittens.
Where are all the eastsiders saying that they are coming? What else do you guys have to do that would mean missing a great West Side day, Are you all going to sit in Echo Park too hot to move whining about not being at some hippy convention in BlackRock or are you going to come out to our awesome BBQ party and have fun?
Hey Fuzz.. any idea what route you'll take? I'll probly be around Pico/Robertson... maybe I can meet you guys enroute... if it's too much hassle to coordinate though, I meet y'all there...
I was thinking about riding to this also but was thinking the the Vine and Hollywood Red Line station would be a good starting point. We'll have a little more downhill to ride and take Santa Monica most of the way. Seems like a nicer route or no? Either way I'll be joining the ride.
I was just going to take us down Olympic (which the bikerowave is off of if my memory serves me correctly (Olympic and Berkley) it's not too bad (one semi rough hill, but a blast coming back down the other side, I climbed it with a 100+ lb B(ike)BQ, you can climb it too) and doesn't have a lot of car traffic.
Santa Monica's kinda a ways off, Olympic is more direct, and definitely less trafficed and bus eaten.

Great hangin with you all today. Thanks to everybody who took the time to say Hi to Uncle Nick, the attention really calmed his nerves.
Special thanks to Summer and Oscar for taking so much time with him, you guys are true gems.
Like an A__-Hole I didn't put anything in the donation bucket, if any of you where taking the donations, hit me up when you see me again, I know all that stuff cost lots of money. Gern, you finally gave me a reason for having that Heinie pack back.
nice pics for sure... can't wait to see the rest. it was great to see everyone come out for polo today and i'm excited for teams to spring up around the city. monthly tournament, anyone? i need some mid-city riders to rep with me. congrats to the winners and thanks to bikerowave for making it happen.
Awesome good times. Thanks Alex, and everyone at the Bikerowave for putting this together. Bike Polo was awesome, and the movie was spectacularly bad in a good way, helped by a vocal audience and hand puppetry. Great way to finish off the weekend.
I'll get my pics up sometime soon (either late tonite or sometime tomorrow). Seems my bottom bracket finially had enough or something (wonderful grindy noises/feeling) just as we got to the beach, gotta hit up the LBS today and get it looked at (I guess 3-5 thousand miles in 9 months was just too much for the poor little guy or something, too bad it's a cartridge though, no repacking.. gotta replace ($$) )
Great photos. And thanks to the BRW kids for putting this kick-ass event together.
A group of us are playing regular games, twice per week. Everyone is invited. We are playing Wednesday nights at 8pm in the Santa Monica Pier parking lot and Sundays at 4pm at the LA High tennis courts.
Yesterday I talked to Reed from the eastside and the dude from Orange 20 about trying to get together with the east side polo players on Sundays. Hopefully we can get in touch to see if LA High will work or if there is a better place for them. To get on a LA bike polo email list, email me at mgvidal@gmail.com
Thanks for rockin my holiday guys!!! Was fun well run shindig. Looks like you guys got an awesome arena for polo.
Big up for the gang that never saids die and takes it to the wee hours of the morning! I never spent so much time with a sweater group of guys than you dudes................honest........you're the only ones I see!
What an awesome time yesterday! Screaming at the movie was probably the highlight of it all for me, with the Smell Segundo playing in the SoCal Bike Polo Championship on bronco bikes a close second.
Thanks to all the Bikerowave volunteers who helped out and pitched in. Thanks to the polo players for a great tournament. Thanks to Kevin Costner for the mustache. Most of all, thanks to everyone who came and made it a great party!
Posted up pics on Flickr from the Bikerowave BBQ & Bike Polo on Labor Day. Thanks again to everyone at the Bikerowave for hosting awesomely good times.
After watching bike polo, seeing this video just made me laugh. The announcer makes it sound as though polo without horses was never thought of until the birth of the Segway.
