Anyone have the magic keys to bikeboom.com? Sure would be nice to change the start time there, no? It shows a start time of 6pm., even though we never started at 6pm. The last time this posting was updated was September 28, 2006. Think it might be about time to change this post? Who knows, you just might get a few more ridazz if this was updated.
YEAH, LACM! Last months ride was the first time I really felt like we'd taken back the streets. It was beautiful, and it will get more and more so, like aging cheese.
Bring friends. Bring your family. Your little sister--actually, considering Fluffer will be there--leave her at home until she learns a lot of debilitating insults, but do bring your 90-year old neighbor and even your boss.
Harry is always last minute, well last 24 hours, if he's able to make it or not. If he can't, is there anyone in the valley that can take over the honors?
Now if Annie, James and Barleye can get some tunes together, we'll be set for the night.
There will probably be a lot of iPods with playlists tomorrow night, but Annie and Barleye's playlist from last month is still getting critical acclaim.
sheeit. i want to go to this ride but now there's a venice ride and i live only 2 miles from it and can make it on time for sure. i think i'll also do the blue balls ride so maybe i'll see you all there!
I am defininlty excited about the ride. I've probably annoyed everyone out here cause I wont shut up about it, and i'm making them feel caues they can't come.
yup i'm planning on the venice cm mainly because it's closer to me and i'll be able to make it on time. hopefully we will all see eachother if we're lucky!
I put together a varied playlist to start out the ride with if there's no objection.......a sampling: Too Hot too Trot, The Runaways, Richard Hell and the Voi Doids, Dead Boys, Fear, 95 South, etc. It promises not to disappoint.
By popular demand, we will be stopping at that specific liquor store. LACM used to stop at the 7-11, but they only had one guy working and are franchise operation. It seems a independently-owned business willing to staff the register with four people for the LACM riders is a preferable refreshment stop.
At approximately 8:30pm on Friday 28 March 2008 at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue in Hollywood, California, the driver of a white Sterling truck consciously and deliberately drove into the intersection and attempted to run down a group of approximately 5 bicyclists. The driver appeared Caucasian or Hispanic with short dark hair. The truck and trailer were white with no markings or logos. The trailer being pulled by the cab was a California license plate #4MD2735. The cab plate is unknown.
I'm the one who chased his ass up Highland to memorize his plate and immediately pulled over and wrote it down.

Eight LAPD patrol cars at approximately 10:30pm swooped in along with a helicopter as the LACM and the Hollywood Ridazz rode down Vermont just past LACC.
What is happening?
All these resources being used against bicycles? We don't have guns. Everyday kids are being shot in South LA and nobody gives a shit.
Yet when 200 bicycles are riding on a Friday night, they are a threat?
We need to set up a meeting with the City Council members who represent this district and rectify this travesty.
That seems a little extreme right there, but it seems like everyone is keeping a cool head.
I'm still wondering what the outcome and reaction would be for a Victor Valley Critical Mass?
From what I keep hearing and seeing, San Bernardino Sheriff's Dept. make these guys look nice.
its a known fact that west ho sherrif suck major donkey balls. I got a ticket from them for dancing in a bunny suit, but when in hollywood, no problems ever. stay out of west ho, it sucks.
How terrible! We are just riding bikes. It makes me want to cry because riding with you all has been the highlight of my life. I hope that we can make some changes in Los Angeles very soon. We are NOT promoting violence. We deserve more support.
I know two people stayed back and got her to Cedars. But we aren't sure what her status is. She probably needed stitches, but the laceration on her leg, though it may have looked bad, was not serious.
Traffic on Hollywood Blvd was incredibly backed up and congested last night. Some drivers were glad to see us, but some were very irritated inching along as pedestrians moved faster on the sidewalks. When the mass traversed through the stalled traffic, this must have angered some of the drivers. They were burning precious $3.65 to $4.00 a gallon petroleum and not getting anywhere fast.
The LACM flyers helped to educate a few drivers, though I doubt anyone gave one to the guy in the truck.
Thanks guys for the awesome ride last Friday. The fuzz was out to stop the evil doers in the streets that nite, but it had little affect to having fun. I dig going on Hollywood Blvd and riding through stopped/slow moving traffic. Riding through Hollywood in general is a fun ride. Let's try and open it up a bit next time and chill at a spot other than Pan Pacific Park, yeah? There's got to be another park around somewhere or something if we put our minds to it. I read somewhere that the grove's parking structure is pretty cool. I'll scope it out before the next ride. Will be scoping out other spots too.
Next time maybe we can do that Beverly Hills park. It was great fun, regardless of the hassles. It is obvious that we are riding into areas where economics plays a role. Hollywood and Highland is a money-making machine. So the cops got some calls. Other than the COD, Critical Mass is no different from Midnight Ridazz. Running red lights is standard operating procedure. Yeah CM riders are more boisterous, whooping and screaming at the top of their lungs, but that's what riding is all about. Having fun and showing the drivers that burning that expense gasoline in a car is not necessary to enjoy Hollywood.
