Alright I'm one of those crazy fucks that loves blasting music while riding..
What does everyone use while riding?
I'm getting tired of the stupid iPod In Ear headphones..
reply
zero.
It's dangerous. You need your ears to ride safely.

Especially while on Kaboki Sky
Being that the safety police are going to cry about this. I would consider colored wire to camouflage the wire with your clothes and/or skin. Enjoy.
I would be more worried about hearing lose. I'm a talk radio addict and I have been recently noticing lose of high end sounds. I would keep it down in traffic for not just being able to hear the sounds around you, but being able to hear in the future. I know I would tend to crank it up in traffic to block out the noise, never really worried about not hearing cars, I would have my eyes for that, and if something is going to hit you from behind you have no recourse anyways.

Yeah but you were high on shrooms at the time. That's different.
The OP, I know you're not going to listen to peep about this but, do not wear earphones or headphones while riding. PERIOD.

You need some of those old school Ginormous headphones the chick from the midnight ride video used. The bigger the better.

another reason why I use head phones is because i have a mic on that thing for my iPhone... makes it so much easier while riding talking on the phone rather then just putting the phone to your ear..

When I first started out I use to blast music also ... then after getting a ticket I learned my lesson and only wear one earphone ... I roll with the 30 buck Phillips in ear extra bass noise cancellation ..

after most of what you have said USER1 of course nobody is going to listen to you.
Have you guy ever spent big money on earbuds? Like the Bose? (I have the bose ipod dock and bose system in my car....they are nice buy I don't know if they are worth the mark up price) I have been sticking around $10 for earplugs.
The sound quality is not ;pretty decent and I seem to have to replace them every couple of months either destroying them or losing them. I think spending the higher money give you lower bass sound. Is the noise canceling worth it.

Has anyone ever tried those speakers you put over your neck? Really, you drape them over your neck and they hang down. Nothing gets plugged into your ear, and the sound is surprisingly full. The person next to you can't even hear the thing too.

i only wear my headphone in one ear so i can hear cars coming and other riders talking. I keep it low unless i'm riding alone.
I use the apple head phone because the bass is sooo good. I tried out some 70$ earbuds that where on sale. They had the best reviews on Amazon. I found the bass to be weak so i gave them to my girlfriend as she doesn't really care.
But what i really want is the old school walkman headphones(with killer bass) that fit over your ear because when i get riding sweat messes up the earbuds. Plus the walkman headphones can be be easily moved over to hear somebody and then placed back on. THe earbuds dangle and get tangled in shit.

Chris has an awesome portable speaker player that attaches to the bars. It's pretty load for what it is. It's too bad you can't get them here in the US.....

Yeah, ear-buds suck, they fall out, get tangled up, etc. I've tried a bunch of stuff and still what I find the best are some simple $20 behind the ear ones like this. I wear a helmet so the behind the ear thing is essential. And since it's one piece, it doesn't get tangled like ear buds.

I rock some basic, Sony earbuds for riding solo.
That's about the only time I recommend it. unless you're good at conversing with yourself.

I got this and I love it! So do the other ridazz. It's so nice rockin the tunes on a bike. I can play my Bass thru it, with a mic, with an mp3 player. All 3 at the same time. I played with FUNDERSTORM with it in December in the tunnel on the FMLY Test Ride.
Does anyone remember that ride?
I'm trying to do it again tomorrow nite.
I also use it daily @ lunch while we play hacky sack on New York Street. I am amazed at how long the batteries last.

I got these
well worth it, cause of the warranty, sound (actual BASS), 3 different ear size plugs, talk-on-phone button, and the same button turns on and off music.
and these would be called ear phones instead of head phones, I put them under my shirt so it doesn't dangle around. people would not even know you have 'em on and you'll be in your own little world, blasting your music, but at the same time you can hear a faint sound of what's going on. try to find somebody that can get you a discount, I can get them at discounted price, cause of where I work.... I wound't get those 10 dollar ones, cause they'll break, then break, then break again. But if you can take care of them, that's great for you. The bose earphones, you can't break.... I tried pulling it, yanking them, rode in the rain with them. and still they are sturdy as I opened them from the box, and plus if they do get defective, just replace them. (but read the warranty!)

I've seen those before and those would rock it out too.
Not to mention when your wearing a helmet, that would also make them easily concealable to the general public.

sennheiser cx300
but i agree, too dangerous to ride with earphones. sometimes i ride with one side in but it takes away from the audio experience. plus i hate dealing with wires, especially when i get sweaty.

these are sick as well, I wouldn't mind getting one.
I saw a guy at Big Wangs in Hollywood a couple of weeks ago. and my friends and I asked him what the hell is that 'thing'. He did a little twist, a little that, a little push, a little kush, and bam! it had an ipod in it, and was blasting music like a little boozoka.
He had to carry it around though, which I thought was pretty lame. No strap or no hook to hang it somewhere. But it fits the bicycle cup holder, as you can see on the picture. which is pretty sick too.
he also said the energy last long on them too. Run on batteries (not sure)
