Honestly Allan, do you think anyone gives a shit? Most people didn't even know he rode a mountain bike.
Apparently when he began riding, the secret service was having a hard time catching up.
I like my Trek Fuel, it's a real sweet ride when I'm doing trails. It's got an excellent XT drive train with Marzocchi in the front and Fox in the Rear. Hey, I even have real mountain tires on my bike -- not those slicks you used to ride.

I'm not building up the frame Specialized gave me as the replacement to mine. I'm just going to sell it this spring and get something lower end, or find a frame and hang the parts I have off it.

That's true. Trek had a problem with rear aluminum triangles and they replaced them when they cracked. In fact, I'd like to crack mine so I get it replaced with a fiberglass one.

Yes, I'm still riding my Trek. I took it through Sycamore Canyon a couple of weeks ago. It was a cold but beautiful day with lots of leaves on the trails. My favorite ride is bombing down Wood Canyon. It's rained enough lately so there was water in some of the stream crossings so that was kind of neat blasting through the water too. That full suspension really does a good job of keeping the wheels on the ground, I sure don't miss my hard tail anymore.

I've got my sets of scars too. I have to admit that I do get a little tired of getting banged up. One crash took my derailleur, hanger, chain, my glasses and my helmet. That was one hell of an expensive crash.

Well, trek is the largest bike manufacturer in the US, they are a wholly owned subsidiary of Intrepid Corp. (non-bike related company I think), plus they frequently buy up smaller bike manufacturers.
Compare to a company like surly.

I believe Surly is owned by Quality Bicycle Supplies which also owns Salsa and others.

What ever, he rides a Trek mountain bike, it's the obvious choice, they make some good bikes, are American, and a well known brand. If Bush was vegetarian I wouldn't stop being vegetarian by association. Hitler was a vegetarian.

My Trek Fuel is a sweet ride on trails. If it's an SUV then what should I be riding instead?
Maybe we all need to come up with a list of politically correct bikes to own. I didn't really give a shit who else owned a Trek Fuel when I bought it. Maybe we should also collect lists of who owns what bikes so we know which brands to avoid.
