What: This meeting is to discuss options for the Portland trip- Dates, places to stay, things to do, transportation etc.
After the meeting, some of us will be riding to BRW movie night.

What: Second meeting to discuss details about ridazz trip to portland.
When: Tuesday, May 5th at 8:30 p.m.
Where: my courtyard.
148 S. Palm Drive
Beverly Hills, CA 90212
we need to start detailing this out. We have transportation for about 12 people i believe so far. portland has already welcomed us with open arms, so we have places to stay as long as we bring tents and such.
the dates are almost completely confirmed. there may even be two different dates for people who want to leave earlier and come back earlier or leave later and return later (the two groups will overlap of course)
so if your SERIOUS about wanting to come please attend this meeting. also. those on the list above...if you are NOT attending or are very iffy about it please revise the list without your name. i will update this list at the meeting otherwise.

I know there's a ride every night, we all have the same problem any time we try to do anything. It just seems to me that Tuesday nights are busier than most. I guess it's up to you. Maybe it would be easier to move to a mailing list for later planning?

yeah i see your point. its just because there's bike n bake on monday, a different meeting on wednesday, i work thursday, and then its the weekend. and no one likes meetings on the weekend.
hmmm. ill talk to a few others about it. see what they think. maybe its too soon for another meeting? the thing is im just trying to get a more concrete list of people going. right now thats really important. any suggestions?
once we have a better list we can do a lot of this through email and practically no meetings.

looks like im free, until this internship.
i think i'm going to drive, as i want my car, as one of my best friends lives 20 min outside portland and i want to visit him.
i can fit 3 other people. and hopefully can get a bikerack.
[ also, gas with me might be cheaper, as i drive diesel. i think nathan c. has already claimed a spot, not sure. ]

how many bikes can the trailer fit? if plane tickets are 79$ and the trailer can fit extra bikes at 10-20$ per extra bike it would help with gas AND help alot more people get there.

dpending on gas prices and how heavy my car gets, it'll be about 70 bucks roundtrip in my car. per person. [ with me + 3 other people. ]
not sure if i want to caravan with the van yet, as i dont want to be doing 55 mph the whole way

haha, when I moved to portland last year, i took amtrak and it WAS literally 30 hours. it was the worst ride of my life. and when i got off the train, i felt so dirty, cuz i can't go 24hrs. without showering! i'm a germaphobe like that.
we have a big car and a bike rack for all our bikes also... just wanna know what date the portland ride is taking place so we know when to start driving up there!

there is not just one portland ride.....the van is going up on the 12th-21st and the entire time we are there there is a huge bike festival thing going on. aka tons of bike rides every single day. so you can go the dates of the van or go earlier or later since your driving yourself.
search the bike event there. its called pedal palooza.

I would like to go to Portland with the Ridazz! I have money and a car....that like 2 others could come in, but alas I have no bike rack. I just want to caravan and tent with you guys for pedal paloza! What are the times and dates people are leaving. I know June 12 is when everyone was leaving.....and June 21st we would come back? A Portland judge has ruled that riding naked is a legally protected form of free speech. A cyclist was arrested for riding naked on Alberta during Last Thursday in June (not during the WNBR). Although he bore no painted slogans and wasn't handing out leaflets, judge Jerome LaBarre dismissed the case because riding naked is “A 'well-established tradition' in Portland, and understood as a form of 'symbolic protest'.”

Guys Larsen was right about the liquor bullshit in Portland. Today me and a friend went into a bar and got kicked out because he didn't have his ID on him. He's 40 and wanted a soda (doesn't drink). 0_0 WTF
Then the Indian guy at the local liquor store stared at my ID for like half a fucking hour. He had the same haircut as Apu from the Simpsons. 0_0 WTF

It's off the bikely path, but Portland also has the world's only roller rink sporting a real working Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ,
the Oaks Park rink.
It's beautiful up there, bring back pix showing us how a city sporting real working BIKE INFRASTRUCTURE works!
