You're: Contraction of the words you and are. "You're a bicyclist."
Break: Destroy. Or to go have a smoke. "I'm going to take a break before I break someone's face."
Brake: The rubber things that stop your bicycle. "My brakes keep me from breaking my face."

Everyone always gets on my case for correcting people's grammar.
But man, that shit is important.
Isn't it nice to sound intelligent? Isn't it nice to have people take you seriously? Isn't it nice to be able to convey your thoughts clearly?

i know this vocabulary might be overwhelming for some, but i want to throw a little grammar into the mix.
-when referring to one thing, use the word "is"
-when referring to a several things, use the word "are"
example:
improper
grammar is a sign of stupidity.
people who use improper grammar
are stupid.

Linguistics department at MIT would probably disagree with the idea that there is a "correct" grammar.
If you assume that your mastery of the english language is in line with "correctness" or "THE RIGHT" way to talk... ummmmm, there is a lot of thought out there that YOUR wrong

there is no "correct" way to write or speak, but there are definitely a few things that are just WRONG. if it is YOUR believe that "your" and "you're" are interchangable, then YOU'RE sorely mistaken.

Weather is the condition atmosphere.
Whether is a conjugation used to introduce the first of two or more alternatives, and sometimes repeated before the second or later alternative.
Example: I asked you whether the weather was well.

Anyhow,
The point is that you can correct grammar all day... fine, go balls out.
The problem is that your corrections are "merely" perscriptive.
If you're aiming for certain goals:
lucidity
communicating "better"
conveying your thoughts (whoa--do you even know what that entails?)
Well, I think you're in a hopeless quagmire. I'll bet that there are certain statements that do not fulfill your grammatical standards, just communicate a message just as clearly.
For example:
I knew exactly what you meant when you wrote "believe" instead of "belief".
Thats just a little bit to think about... but, well... I find that most people have a stupid meter, and they draw the line somewhere below their intellectual status.

Though being able to spell correctly is not a factor in success, it matters in setting a good initial impression. A few resumes go through my desk and the ones that misspell simple words go straight to the shredder.
The importance we put into spelling might be generational. I am closer to 50 than to 30, grammar and spelling were very important when I was growing up. Also it was before texting, chat rooms and internet forums. The ability to spell is not that important with a majority of the kids I know. And it does not hinder them in any way since a lot of their peers are in the same boat. Some day, probably when these kids run the world, spelling will not matter at all.

I'll tell you why people are so fucking stupid sometimes and always will be...This just happened here at my job:
I was in the kitchen alone watching msnbc about sotamayer being voted in to the supreme court.
a girl walks in....
her: are you watching this?
me: yes
her: are you serious?
me: yes
her: no you aren't (1/2 laughing and walks to the tv and starts to change the channel)
me: I said I was watching that channel.
her: whatever (and sits down)
I waited about 2 minutes
me: go ahead and change the channel..but i just want you to know that I think it was rude for you to do what you did.
her: ok (proceeds to change the t.v. to TYRA)

Oh I totally agree!
I'm a writer and I love language. And I especially love LOLSPEAK and L33TSPEAK. I think that "errors" can even be a stylistic choice. The English language is tremendously fluid and always changing. I ain't gonna claim my grammar is perfect either.
And there's always poetry.
But there is something to be said for writing that is presented well. The English language - as fragmented, impractical, and inconsistent as it can be - is beautiful, and when wielded accordingly...it's like, man, it's like riding your bike along the beach path in the morning (Before everyone gets there) after smoking a bowl at home.
Know what I mean?

If you are referring to this group, it would be Ridazz. Ridazz is a proper noun.
A proper noun has two distinctive features: 1) it will name a specific [usually a one-of-a-kind] item, and 2) it will begin with a capital letter no matter where it occurs in a sentence.
