Meet us at our shop, located at 5711 N. Figueroa, Los Angeles, CA 90042 (adjacent to the Highland Park Gold Line stop on the Metro) at 10 a.m. for a quick bike safety check. The ride kicks off at about 10:30 a.m.
This week we're heading to King Hua in Alhambra. The LA Weekly's Jonathan Gold wrote a review of King Hua back in June of this year. After some of our own "research" we're convinced that this place rocks.

We will meet at our usual spot at in front of the Lighthouse Cafe at Hermosa Pier, ride our bicycles to see an exciting, action packed, hard hitting Angel's City Roller Derby game featuring Heather-aka 'Ms. Defiant', and Sonia aka 'Quantum' who often skate with us on our rides! Come cheer them on!

Griffith Park LA River Ride to Long Beach Brunch! 9/13/08

 Bunch of us are riding Baja 50 miles this very last event! We'd try to train our bike & legs to peddle it! So Come and sweat with us on this LOVERLY sat. morning! Total 30+ miles fairly flat road! We are started from Pony Ride at Griffith Park and take River bike path to Elysian Park cross over China Town and back to LA River trail ride until we see the LONG BEACH Shoreline Village for the Brunch! We might get to Huntington Beach if we still have more energy to kill...otherwise, Metro back to LA ZOO!

My campmates and I were cleaning off our Playa bikes today (ok, we were drinking beers looking at the bikes), and realized that resisting the dust is futile. EMBRACE the DUST! This Thursday downtown art walk, get your dusty bikes downtown to Bar 107. We meet at 7:00 to get liquored up and ride at 7:30 to terrorize, err, I mean support, the downtown galleries. Keep your EL wire, and Playa attire on, and lets ride on out onto the asphalt Playa. No map or agenda except departing at 7:30. I'm praying for a dust storm...

Thursday Night Raccoon Kit Ride

Since the Alhambra YumYum ride has kinda died out with me leading the last 4 rides I've decided to start a new ride. For this first week we will be meeting at the same spot, Fremont and Main, YumYum parking lot in Alhambra. After this the spot will be the gas station on the NE corner of Fremont and Mission, it's two blocks east of the Gold Line station for easier access from LA.
The idea is to provide a ride for people trying to get faster but can't quite keep up with the Raccoon ride so I'll be trying to incorporate some decent speeds and a bit of climbing. I would also like to start doing s...
