 This week Sunday Funday will be going to the Encino Velodrome
MEETUP: 1PM SHARP to carpool at home depot, if not just meet us at the park.
Hopefully we will get there no later than 2 so we can start riding. Its at an outdoor cement velodrome off the 405 at Lake Balboa Park in Van Nuys, we'll just do some laps and cook up some hotdogs. LIVE SEA URCHIN RIDE . (thats 17 years, not 17 editions) one of the longest running rides in Los Angeles.
This ride started in 1994, and has continued sporadically since then, always multiple times per year, open to all

We ride down to Quality seafood at the base of the Redondo Pier, eat seafood , drink beer, maybe hit Naja's, hit the raft, chill out, enjoy life,

There will be full detailed route/maps handed out on the morning of the ride.

Breakfast @ 5am & Depart @ 6am SHARP!
PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY if you plan to have breakfast. The earlier we leave, the sooner we get to the brewery and take advantage of the FREE Brewery Tour (First come, first served).
Everyone is welcome, even if you don't ride a bicylce.
Many choose to drive along side the cyclist and aid them all the way.

 There are two openings going on this weekend at the bike oven and Flying Pigeon, a band and one long art bike ride through art disneyland we call highland Park, glassel park and eagle rock. The bike ride is entry level , very slow and the stops are long so plenty of times to mingle and look at art that gets changed on a monthly basis.

At the Oven we have Pixl is having a stencil art , so bring t-shirts and stuff to stencil on

Our rides do tend to run dude heavy, but this sausage fest will be a literal one rather than the crass metaphorical one you're thinking off, you cutoff-wearing perv.  The infamous Wednesday night sessions at Encino Velodrome returns for 2011.
This six-week class is exactly what it sounds like. The program introduces new track riders to the main disciplines of the velodrome and the skills required to race them. Each week of the course, we learn and practice a new event and the final session will be a multi-event Omnium race night.
