San Buenaventura ArtRiders Bicycle & Social Club Presents: The Ventucky Tweed Ride

TWEED RIDE Friday February 5.

Get your mustache waxed, collect your tweed, and join the San Buenaventura ArtRiders Bicycle and Social Clubâ€™s first Tweed Ride for all the dapper lads and lasses.

The Tweed Ride meets at 5:30pm (sunset) and California Street and the Ventura Beach Promenade near the bars at Aloha and C Street and the Artists Union Gallery and rides north on the promenade at 6pm.

Itâ€™ll be dark by 6pm so remember to have lights on your bike! Weâ€™ll visit galleries and weâ€™ll end up on Laurel (not too far from the bike overpass back to the parking garage at California Street). f

Afterparty with live music and beer donated from Anacapa on Laurel.

No lycra, jeans, or modern garb please! Prizes for Dandies dressed most ingeniously! Bring your own device for portage of libations & money for hooch.

Saturday Feb. 6 is the weekend ride for Februaryâ€“TWEED TOO! Meet at 2pm at the City of Ventura Mainenance yard at San Jon Road and Chrisman Ave for a quick jaunt around town publicizing the Angels & Saints/Seven Deadly Sins Fashion and Variety show that night in the Elks Lodge on Ash and Main!

So yes itâ€™s another Tweed Ride, but with a Saints and Sinners Twist. Will you have a halo? Wings? Devil horns?

The Fashion & Variety show starts at 8pm and runs until 10pmâ€“and the show includes special guests like Art Predator on a bikergo riding down the runway! Tickets are $15 or $25 for VIP: Fashion Week Ventura 2010 benefits AIDS Project Ventura County (APVC), a program of Ventura County Rainbow Alliance .

If you have any extra TWEED, wings, halos or horns, please pass them on! Or if you want to help us style!

Remember: Rain will NOT cancel these ridesâ€“afterall, what is better than Tweed for a Ride in the Rain?
