Hello,
My friend and I were having lunch at El Conquistador, when we finished, we went outside and our bikes had been stolen, a witness (Drunk mexican man, who didnt want to stop them for fear of being shot) had told us they were 2 13-15 yr old kids a boy and girl and that they had clipped our lock, (crappy cable) and had jetted off, he said they lived within an 8 block radius. If anyone has any info or has seen these hoodlums before, please reply.
The bikes are:
Brown Masi with white logo, tan grips and silver toe clips, single speed. similar to the one in the photo below
Black tall Peugeot, black grips, duct tape seat and a very distinctive white stem

what stopped you from upgrading your crappy cable lock? Too expensive? Let's see how cost effective it is chasing these minor hoodlums down. Keep us posted with hours spent. :)

If you think about it we shouldn't HAVE TO lock up our shit. People should be courteous and respectful of others stuff... but I'm describing a utopia and we all know that'll never happen.
Hope you find your bike dude. That's not a common bike, not one I've seen too many people (if any) ride around town on. Will keep my eyes peeled.
PS you might want to invest in a better lock.

I feel for you and it sucks having a bike stolen. It happened to me too. It happens when you let your guard down. For the most part every story I hear including my own about how something was stolen is really our own fault. You said it yourself, nice bike with a shitty lock. It was a matter of time. The trick is to be paranoid. I'm always paranoid not to the extreme but I'm always mindful of where my bike is at all times. If I have to lock it I make sure to lock it in the best possible spot. If I see people staring at my bike too much I talk shit. Sure I bet this is all making me sound like an asshole but it's kept me from having a stolen bike in a really long time. We live in L.A. and people have been getting jacked since I can remember.. If there is one thing you can trust is that your bike will be stolen at some point. You can do your best to slow them down by investing in some good locks and never leave your bike locked up and out of sight for too long. If it's at work, bring it inside. I bitched at my bosses until I finally was able to bring my bike inside within view of my desk. Best of luck finding it but the harsh reality is that they probably spray painted the bikes already or sold them.
