I'm sure some of you are aware but I want nothing to do with the
planning or organizing of the Ridazz Camp this year.
The application is due THIS THURSDAY (April 28, 2011) at NOON.
If you want to have prime reserved spot for Ridazz Camp you MUST apply
for Theme Camp by filling out the forms:
http://forms.burningman.com/
If someone (like Prime Minister Graham) doesn't do this, then Ridazz
Camp will not happen.
Again, due THIS THURSDAY.

PAY UP!
The money is going towards shade structure materials; a trailer to haul the structure, wind/solar/whatever generators, sound system, etc; and hopefully some supplies for bike repair.
The ideal thing to do is PayPal me so we have a record and can easily distribute the money. Mark it as a donation/gift so there's no charge.
Dues = $20

I hate burning man. It's for hippies. I hate hippies. The thing I hate most is dealing with bm douchebags. They want bikes, they think that because they are going to party in the desert for a week that entitles them to some sort of discount. It does not. If you can afford to party for a week in Nevada, you can take 20 bucks out of your drug budget and put it in the bike budget. No, I don't want you to mention me in your "blog" that 12 people read, no, it's ok. The worst thing is many of the bikes that go to burning man get left there to rot. Or they get carted home and are not cleaned and oiled and are pushed (or dragged) to the curb for the scrap metal guy, it's a waste.
Yes I destroy bikes at my events, I do. But all the bikes I use were rescued from the trash and given a glorious death instead of being left leaning against a porta-potty and forgotten by some drunken reviler at 4am in some dry ass lake bed.
I'm sorry, I'm just venting.

I've picked up quite a few bike frames from the playa. One of which will be a future coaster brake challenge bike... Yes it will. A handful of frames I picked up that became ghost bike frames. You're right, there's a lot of douches out there leaving bikes out there.
It's not all hippies. There are some elements to take from the experience I think you would appreciate. But I can't explain it to you. I don't know what I'm saying, but you don't care, so forget it.

Yeah, I hate to see bikes wasted. I always have found very happy people to take my old salvaged bikes, so I can totally see what a waste it is. LA runs on bikes. Every morning I see so many people on their bikes (majority on the sidewalk, makes me sad).
Also, there is a raffle for a ticket that I saw run by the LA Burning Man group. $5 for a chance to get a ticket. Just figured someone might be interested.

@rev106, I think the peeps that are more irritating than the old hippies is the frat boys there. That's the main reason I don't go after being there a couple of years ago. It must have been awesome when it was "underground".
@sneaking in, I always thought the best time to sneak in was during a dust storm. Right when it comes rolling in. You just got a wait forever for it to happen. But if it does, the security would be hampered and they can't really follow you all that easily.

EY ALL YEW BIKE SCUM BURNAZZ
PAY YOUR DUES!
It's my understanding that dues this year are the lowest they have ever been.
the sliding scale for dues was never put into effect and so far Vlad is the only one to have given any amount other than $20. ($200!!!!) (You can give more than $20!)
Jonny Boy and Sheena have spent upwards of 2k on an awesome shade structure and truck to get it there so that we all can have a cool place to drink, fix bikes and siesta.
I know burning man is all about giving within your means, but JB+Sheena have gone above and beyond to design, build and transport an incredible experience for us, (yall are going to loose your shit when you see the new, brighter, Loudest Soundbike in LA.)
Even if you have a bike rack on your car, please consider paying the $25 to have your bike safely brought to and from BRC. That's 12.50 each way, and saves your bike from 1200 miles of exhaust heat burning your tires, popping your tubes and the ever present possibility of it flying off and becoming a piece of proto-freak bike.
see ya on la playa

Not to come off materialistic... but that would be awesome! I did write the address on it so a few choice questions and maybe the name Midnight Ridazz'll pop up and who knows.
I'm looking forward to it. Every year from now on til it finds its way back to me. :)
