NPR: Day to Day is DEAD! :)
Thread started by Roadblock at 12.11.08 - 10:35 am

I just heard on airtalk that the show Day to Day is being cancelled.

This makes me happy. That show was a piece of trash sponsorred by microsoft through the shows private partner slate magazine. That show had replaced The World on that same time slot on kpcc and basically reported in a right tinged slant and covered useless entertainment pieces- as though I don't get enough reportage on entertainment on commercial TV. Bye bye suckazzzz!!!

The World is a great show...I kick ass at that little geo quiz at the end of every show. Maybe I shouldn't have dropped out of college...

Mourning becomes eclectic sucks now that Harcourt is gone. SUCKS. They really need to do something about it.

I like Terry Gross on Fresh Air. Is that part of what's being canceled?

all I need is Mike Malloy. he's not on NPR (get him on satellite) but I'm in love with him.

I would always listen to KXLU - If I only got reception!

KXLU = a reason towards living on the West side.

Thom Hartmann is really good, too.

he's on AM 1150 in the mornings I believe yeah yea from 9-12 then its Randy Rhodes and she's a good one, too.

I mean as far as left-wing political talk radio goes

Nick Haircut was soooo boring. He was all about super slow sappy coldplay clones. J. Bently will throw some Primal Scream in ery' now and then...I love Jim Svejda over at KUSC. He knows his shit and sounds like Thurston Howell on mushrooms.

Is this the same Mike Malloy that wrote those religious-studies textbooks?

Only reason I ask is because I took this world religions class two years ago, and his name was on the book.

ha..I doubt it. Unless those textbooks criticize religion then maybe.

Right now he's talking mad shit on corporate america and bill o'reilly. god I love this guy.

hahaha!! he just called oreilly and karl rove "two piles of white man excrement"

karl rove is "pasty pale-looking dough boy" who makes Mr Malloy embarassed to be white.

LMAO oh my GOD this guy is just too great.

Actually it's all about John Peel R.I.P.

I can't get KXLU usually but I listen to Part Time Punks and She Comes In Colours when I get the chance.

As far as KCRW: Chris Douridas > Jason Bentley > Nic Harcourt

I'm more of an O'Reilly fan myself, but there's far worse than him.

Anyone ever hear of that nutjob named Michael Savage?

He makes O'Reilly look like the ice-cream man when it comes to Conservative-talk.

We're spoiled here in LA. What do we have, 3 NPR stations here? Damn lucky to have KCRW too! That station is listened to all over the world. Great source of news and commentary too. My only complaint is that the music portion is a bit limited in what they play.

Harcourt was such a lame ass. getting his picture taken in graffiti strewn alleys I assume to pad his "street cred" and injecting his voice in between every god damn song. the last straw was when he had guest DJ Beck in there and sure enough saw to it to interrupt the legend's mix for EVERY fuckin song with useless banter. Even Beck was getting rattled "you're in control Nick" who the fuck interrupts a set by BECK? good riddance Harcourt.

Nice. A post about Day to Day and every reply was about a different show or something else.

I thought D2D was good. I feel bad for the journalists and other employees involved that have to go searching for new work. Tough days out there for journalists. It freaks me out.
