HEY EVERYONE!!
I just wanted to see if anyone wanted to plan a Graffiti/MURAL Ride stopping around town to see the works of Banksy, Retna /El Mac, Fairey, Space Invader, Mear One, and some of the prominent mexican american murals as well.
Now I dont know too much about the Murals but I know of several favorites in City Terrance and Boyle Heights. I am also really interested in seeing as much street art as possible. If anyone has any suggestions for the RIDE please leave the address of the graffiti or mural (cross Streets) and a brief description of what it is. If you know anything about the artist that would be awesome as well.
Well if your interested hit me back on the post!
Best Wishes,
Frank

RAD idea!
could be a wicked day ride.
or an amazing night ride.
would be cool to rope in some from the graff community
maybe they could turn us on to some unknown spots and/or join our ranks.

that would be fun as hell. call it The Mural Ride II.
The Mural Ride I was a huge success and there are certainly plenty more murals that have gone up since then. plan it. we can do it for March 2nd friday.

yeah theres a place called the art bridge.
instead of taking a right and going up the hill to the summit, you take a left.
bring cans of krylon and cardboard stencils.

la doliente de hidalgo, near the city terrace branch library
euclid and 4th street mural on a store
soto and chavez in boyle heights

There's always new stuff. going up on La Brea - Melrose. Check out the new work by Swoon that just went up friday next to Orange 20 Bikes.
We can definitely get a few artists on board...

Mural/Graffiti Ride
Checking out the response I got from this Post was encouraging... I actually went ahead and contacted some of you folks (those of you whom I could find some contact info for) and wanted to see if you had any more ideas....
My Plan is this...
Post two more bulletins on midnightridazz forum: one asking for the crossstreets of murals that people find note worthy the other asking for the crossstreets of street art.
Take those and put them into a handy dandy excel sheet and then get together with some riders to check out the sites and plan our route.
The whole process shouldn't take longer than 3 weeks... And then we have our own bon-a-fide midnight ride.
I really want to see if we can reach out and get some prominent muralists and/or street artists to participate... Maybe we can make some art along the waaaay...
If your interested hit me back on myspace (I updated my profile) or you can get to me via email
the noz
