thought that might get your attention!
I just convinced the boss to have a bike night here at the
Spring St. Smokehouse...I'll be working, here's the info:
BIKE NIGHT, Tuesday December 11th 8pm-midnight
$4 pints and $5 bbq sandwiches (1/3 lb) for everyone who rides a bike here.
We're at 640 N. Spring in chinatown (just north of chavez), about 3 blocks from union station.
We've got 25 kinds of beer right now (8 on tap), plus some wine. Almost every selection is either a microbrew, local brew or belgian - I can vouch for them all 'cause i get to pick 'em! If there's a good turnout this could become a weekly or at least bi-weekly event, so i hope to see you all there! I at least expect you trenway guys to come out after the ride, you said you would ;)

PS. is this really a deal exclusive for BIKE RIDERS per se? if we show up with bikes do we get better prices than ordinary people? cause Pure Luck features $4 beers everyday for anyone, not to be a dick but the ad doesnt seem like a particularly great deal compared to any other spot?.... what's in it for the Ridazz if they show up? hu hu hu? :)

i agree with roadblock. where is the deal? i did see that they do have $2.50 pabst on their website menu.
lance also emailed us last night saying that they usually close early, but will stay open for us to post party after the next sins and sprockets ride. thinking it may work out cool if everyone want to hang out there after our ride since it is so close to our start point. could even pre-party there as well??

um. yeah. this night is a good opportunity for some you Fucking Independents (FI) to ride with TWBG. We'll be riding from all over NELA and converging at the Smokehouse in Chinatown-ish.
PS. We're Tren Way, not Trenways...

The IAAL-MAF has been discussing the idea of riding on Tuesdays and also converging on The Smokehouse next week.
I also don't see any major "deal" here, but it might be a good excuse for a meeting of the tribes. No illusions though - I'm sure Tren Way can drink the IAAL-MAF under the proverbial table.

Hey guys, the response so far is awesome, i can't wait to see ya'll in here.
I know it's not the greatest deal in town, but our draughts are usually $5, and the sandwiches $7...i wanted to do $3 on the beers but with the beers we have (ie not macrobrew shit) that doesn't really yield any profit, so the boss nixed it :/
That said i'm bound to 'forget' to ring up a beer or two for those of you who actually buy more than two. Also, we'll work out some pitcher deals. Plus, the JOOSE will be a ridiculously cheap drunk considering it has 4 pabsts worth of booze in it...
Lance K12.6.07 - 6:50 pm
reply

Also, the website is in need of updating...for you beer snobs, here's the real lineup right now
DRAUGHT: angel city che, vitzen (heffe), dunkel, abbey, and ale. Stone Arrogant Bastard. Sierra Nevada Celebration.
BOTTLES: Racer 5, affligem noel, hebrew pomegranate ale, old rasputin stout, mad river jamaica red, fox barrel cider, lost coast alleycat amber, hennepin saison, avery white rascal, duvel, chimay red, delirium tremens, affligem blond, kwak, bohemia, amstel, pyramid apricot, PBR.

Word in the sewerz is that a contingent of the IAALMAF will be rolling in around 10 or so to check this out. And this particularly rank member of that tribe has never had this.. how you say "Joose?"

Anybody who thinks that $4 for a pint of some of the beers he listed isn't a good deal...
...go back to drinking Coors Light. Most places charge $9 bucks for a Duvel or Affligem.

Well you don't get $4 pints of duvel, i wish i had that on tap :) it's a 330ml bottle, but yeah it's definitely cheaper.
This is TOMORROW! This is a shameless bump.

We went to Enzo Gucci's restaurant, and he served us choice brews for only $3.50. Mind you we had to listen to one of his workers rev up his Lamborghini, while he told us of tales of him climbing the Himalayas, while wearing only jeans, t-shirts and a pair of thongs.

I know this is an odd request.
I will most likely be bringing some donuts for the local cops (LAPD, mission div)who picked up my Dad this morning, when I didn't even realize he was gone.
So could someone bring a large size midnight ridazz t-shirt, that I can borrow, for when I go into the police station tomorrow.? It will be returned.

ok Lance, so there may be a bunch of bikers down for tonight... but from what I recall there isn't too much in the way of locking up. I am a little concerned with theft in the area. I have seen these saw horse contraptions used at other heavy ridazz meet spots for areas with limited lock up. Do you think your spot can/may provide a lock up type device for large meets? Of course in the future. Just concerned and thinking ahead.

No, nothing fancy just something that can hold a quantity of bikes. I have seen a thin pole hoisted on stacked milk carts. Wouldnt you feel safer having it locked up outside thier window? Lots of bikes may be on thier way. I eat at the thai across that street, there isnt too many no parking poles to lock up on on that street. We may have to find lock points outside of view.

Just wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for all the ridazz who rolled in tonight...the messengers...the librarians...trenway...of course (bigbike)dantom(ni)coleskanomike. I was there a little late but i had a blast - thanks for bringing the rides to me since i can rarely get out to 'em.
I've got plenty more joose so maybe we can do it again soon. See ya on that long and dusty...

Lance, this librarian wants to thank YOU for having us cyclistas. Our compatriot Mack raved about the ribs, I dug my tri-tip, the fries were awesome and the brews were excellent.
I even appreciate you allowing us to sample Joose, but that'll be about as close as I get to that concoction ever again. Blarf. Ack. Patooey.
If you make this bike night thing a recurring deal you'll see me there again. Hell, you'll see me there anyway that Angel City Abbey was tasty!
