I think I have a right to my opinion. I guess I just don't like people referring me to an establishment of 99 percent. 2 immigrant parents with both having the ideals of the american dream. They BOTH realized that they aren't rich due to the fact they didn't pay attention to what they signed and fucked up. But they realized they made those mistakes. What makes me sad is seeing myself trying to look up to people just blaming others instead of themselves and just like I told you, this is the reason why I don't support this whole Occupy LA thing.

p.s. For anyone interested in getting a job. They are hiring janitors at LAX. Yeah I know most of you are too snobby for a job but then again A JOB IS A JOB. Shit doesn't clean itself.

I'm afraid you aren't quite grasping what this is all really about.

I recommend you watch this documentary. I think it's pretty much spot on to what most of us have been blind to realize.

Anything that even remotely goes against the grain of what's considered right on this forum gets you bullied and laughed at.

That's why I've found it best to just stay out of these things like this.
Pursue my chosen path and let everyone make judgment after all has been said and done.

It just feels like you spit in the general direction of MY immigrant parents, who like yours came here without speaking a lick of english. Ask me what they did with what little they have and I'll tell you in private. In the meantime, it hasn't stopped this government from trying its best to make it, not only harder, but almost impossible to live a decent life: one where you can take a day off here and there. If we don't work we starve. You speak from the perspective of a spoiled brat, but with reason, since you've never even had a real job yet. Your OCCUPATION is STUDENT. Mine is finding ways to survive.

And yes... a job is a job. But how many jobs are there really out there? And believe you me, I have a bunch of friends with degrees who are doing menial work, dumpstering and all sorts of other shit you wouldn't believe.

Grow up... join the workforce, then come talk to me.

The 99% movement, as I understand it, isn't about avoiding responsibility for one's decisions and actions.

It's about helping America understand that the monopolization of wealth by the smallest fraction of the population, combined with the corporatization of the political system, is having profoundly negative consequences for our democracy and for Americans as a whole.

Sure, nobody is OWED a free education, or free healthcare, but a country that does its best to ensure that all of its citizens are healthy and well-educated is a country that's going to succeed going forward. A country that makes its young people choose between paying rent and paying for school, and makes its old people choose between paying for healthcare and avoiding bankruptcy is not going to prosper long term.

Sure, a student loan amnesty isn't "fair", especially to those of us that saved up and made extra payments and paid off our loans well ahead of time, but we're in the worst economy in our lifetime, and giving millions of 20 and 30 something a couple of hundred extra bucks each month would boost the economy in a way that just about nothing else would, so it's a good idea that deserves to be considered seriously.

There are plenty of us that are technically in the 53% that are all in favor of the 99%, because even those of us that are doing OK want a country in which everybody's health and education is taken care of, and in which the principle of "one person, one vote" trumps the principle of "one dollar, one vote."

do like Jesus and only focus on the bottom percent.

The 99% is intuitive but only speaks to economic inequality. Those closer to the top of the 99% are not on the side of the bottom 10%. The slogan has given those who look at the issue superficially, reason to claim solidarity with groups I would not stand with and would not stand with you (e.g. LAPD).

I dont like Palucha but I can respect the fact that he has an opnion on the topic. The same way younger people are looking at the 99% and saying I agree with this. Bentstrider is correct that people gang up if its not what people see as right and its easy because the same people reply to everything. I never speak out on anything political on these boards because something about being a keyboard warrior for hours ..I find pointless and unproductive.

Palucha has a point but so do the 99% and so do the 1%.

It is important not to get too overly excited about the dogma of a position. Yes the 1% own everything and control everything, and yes the 99% feel they have no economic power and yes the 53% work hard and think people should try the same and not complain.

At the end of the day I think we can have a legitimate discussion on all these points but will never come to a solution.

Good for you palucha for standing up for your opinion. Don;t let the hippie bullies win.

I've been and done it.
The quality of the brisket is much too gamey, has not been exposed to the right natural elements.
As a cheap alternative to the street-hardened brisket, it will suffice.
But, "corporate-executive-burger 1%" isn't as good as "grilled-thug-burger 150%".

Now, if you've accidentally slaughtered both heads of stock on the same day, simply mix the meats as a sausage-Kielbasa blend with Jalapenos and you've got a properly balanced product ripe for market!!!
