What time is the screening? I plan on just meeting everyone there instead of riding to the oven since it's out of the way for me.

This is the first I was informed of this. What do you mean "boa" frazzled?
I don't see myself being there. But if anybody wants to check out my frazzled boa, I'll be at the mall on highland and Hollywood, listening to Jazz with my Dad. No OCR1 for this event

Thanks for the endorsement, Joseph. I am sexy, but I am not sexxydave (who, by the way, is hanging tonight with Old Sexy, apparently).
I checked this out last week (they showed the original Wicker Man). The space is fantastic, the guys who run are very cool...it's a sweet little thing seeing some good flicks on top of a roof in Echo Park. And they're all sound engineers so the music and sound quality of the film is impressive.
The film is by German film director, Wim Wenders, and, best described by IMDB, is about..." An angel tires of overseeing human activity and wishes to become human when he falls in love with a mortal". I haven't seen it for years (its was made in 1987), but I remember that it has incredible cinematography, and is very moody and atmospheric. It was a big art house hit at the time. Here's the IMBD link (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093191/)
They're having screenings every Tuesday night, all summer, so we'll keep posting the screening info here.

The film is the basis for the pretty blatant remake/ripoff Nick Cage vehicle called City of Angels... the one with that goo goo dolls song that is now stuck in my head for just thinking it... grrr, but it's MUCH better. Much more interesting, and less, uhh, Hollywood cliche.

Wings Of Desire is a fine, fine flick. Yes, it is atmospheric, but not in a gauzy way. The pacing is not quick, there aren't a lot of car crashes and gun battles. But it will hold your attention. I've only seen it on TV and I found it compelling. In a theater, or even projected on the wall of a parking structure or whatever the hell, it will no doubt be even more gripping.
Peter Falk is in it. Peter Falk, for crying out loud!

Wings of Desire (German movie with some English spoken)
Peter Falk makes a great appearance in this movie
there is more emotion in 5 minutes of this movie than there is in the entire american knock-off...(of course I could only bear to see 2 minutes of the american knock-off)...

This was a bad ass setup I went to yesterday. The peeps there put alot of effort into this event. Outdoor movie, live music and 1 dollar beers that turned out free at the end of the night.the rooftop setup is awasome.
Thanks Crespin for the post.
Cant wait till next Tuesday...whos in.
