Thread Box:
Neuvation
Thread started by sexy at 10.13.08 - 5:05 pm

Anybody here have or has riden a Neuvation Frame. Either the Carbon or the Alloy. I was seen one guy ride one on a ride one night and didn't think anything of it, except "look at that, it is a Neuvation frame" and the guy responded, "yup it is a Neuvation frame." I didn't even bother to ask him about it.

I have recently purchased a bike with Neuvation M28Aero? wheelset... They are the sweetest wheels I have ever ridden on. I also purchased a bike with Mavic Ksyrium SSL SC. I found the Neuvations to be a better wheel for me and how I have been riding recently. The things roll on there own, AMAZING.

I have been reading the bike forum reviews, but wanted to see if anybody on here has any insight or experience with Neuvation wheels or frame.

Only Franz is the only person to bring up these wheelsets. SC Nomad, please comment. Anything about wheelsets, I am very interested in learning what you think are the best out there with realism of price and material. ( No I'm not going to ride on a carbon wheelset to the store......Go ahead PC. start your wise ass comments)

don't make fun of me, they are Mavic Ksyrium SL SSC not Mavic Ksyrium SSL SC.

Thanks Tyler. I'm sneaking off for little 10-20minute hill climb peddle pounders in the area for respite. That area in Porter Ranch that is on fire on Senson Ave is one the spots I travel by for my hour rides when I know my Dad is sleeping. It sweets to climb the hills up that area. Wide hills with a fair climb and little car traffic.

Don't know about the Neuvation frame but the wheels are an excellent value. American classics wheels are also a great value.

on the American Classic..... any particular model that you fancy.

When would it be in someone interest to use a tubular wheel instead of a clincher?

tubular on the velodrome only.

A friend of mine who is really anal about his biking stuff researched wheels to death and decided on Neuvations. He was on a budget, but wanted good wheels. He's really happy with them. I can't tell you what model they are. I just had a quick look at the web site, the wheels look really handsome and nice for the price. I guess people like them.

I found a fantastic deal on a pair of new Ksyrium SL so that's what I'm using now on my fast geared bike. Light yet bombproof for bigger riders.

I bought the basic wheel set from Nuvation 14 months ago.
I love these wheels. They roll smooth as silk and are very light and very strong.
At $200, they are a steal.
Their shipping is fast, too.
The ones I bought came without the skewers, so if you don't have a set already, you will have to purchase those seperatly.
I say, "Go for it!".

with the recent rise in bike thefts, i would suggest ditching the stock skewers and getting those locking ones. they make them for seatposts as well now.

Or remove your front wheel and u-lock it with your frame and rear wheel. I do this, and so far, so good.

i have hipster deep section rims. i can barely get the ulock around the seat tube and through the rear wheel on a parking meter.

get rid of your hipster tiny u-lock - cheaper than getting rid of your hipster deep section rims.

U-lock and Cable both. Lock the back wheel and frame to something fixed, use the cable to lock up the front wheel, helmet, saddle, etc.

Hell Yeah. Lets take the thread really off topic.

Get a mini folding bike and wear as a charm on a neckless when you go inside somewhere. That, or you can just put it in your pocket.

Don't forget your helmet. Safety First!

I was thinking about getting these, everyone who has them loves them. The Belgium Knee Warmers guy gave his blessing too.

I didn't because I got some Mavic Classics Elites for about $100. Durability over lightness for me, plus the Mavic hubs roll real nice.

Yup, Neuvation makes bikes:

http://www.neuvationcycling.com/bicycles.html

Sound like a great deal, $1500 for a full carbon Ultegra bike. Probablly made in the assemly line as much more expensive bikes. They probably ride real nice.

I think the purpose of these bikes is to put some guilt into people who buy $10,000 bikes so they can ride five miles on a bike path on alternate Sundays.

@ Sexy,

If your looking for a bike, email me. If you can wait for a month or so there might be good deals. The new models for next year just came out. Most clubs get new frames with new color schemes. Several people will upgrade to the new frames/bikes and will sell the old ones for cheap. The old frames are about 1 - 2 years old and for the most part meticulously maintained.

Email in my profile.

Thanks Dennis

I know I'm can miss things at times. It must be me, because I don't see your email in your profile.

Regarding a new bike, I have been looking for something to replace my lost GIANT, and something that I can strip with great components to build my Centurion 80's frame, I rode years back.

I got the same giant off ebay, but it ended up being a size too big.

I found this 2000 DeRosa Planet with full DuraAce with the Neuvation Wheels. It is 57cm when I ride 52-54cm. I was going to build the Centurion with it, but I have fallen in love with everything about it. Just wish it fit me properly. It actually fits fine when riding it. It just pushes into my taint when I stand over it. It feel terrific. Not your usual Aluminum beat up feeling.

I just bought a 2002 Giant TCR one (just like Uncle Harrys) that has full Ultegra with the Mavic Kysruim SL (which are barely used) on them. It rides beautifully and shifts so smoothly. The thing is almost in perfect condition. Bought it off a weekend warrior from Redondo who upgraded to a carbon. It almost fits right (I think I need a different stem). It is super light, but I do feel some little ache and pains when I ride it.

AS FOR LOOKING FOR A NEW BIKE...... I'm always looking for some special deal. I'm pretty happy with the DeRosa right now. Reality is that I don't ride enough right now for it to really matter. I might get in 15min to an hour and 1/2 if I'm luckly daily.
I could always sell the other ones if I find something I really like.
Do you think there might be something available that rides comparable to a DeRosa? I know you have to ride it to see how they feel. I just think when talking to you, that you know about every bike ever made.

I want to get rid of that Giant that is too big for me. I think it is junk now that I have ridden other bikes. Bigsexxy think she wants to ride it, but haven't taken the time to really do a long ride on it. She is going to try the DeRosa too. I going to convince her to ride the DeRosa when she wants and I'll ride the TCR when she rides the DeRosa, or I'll get something else. I know she won't ride that often, and if I'm wrong, it will be a situation that I will welcome.

I forgot to mention. The reason I asked about the Neuvation frames is that I was so impressed with the wheel and the owner has such a marvelous reputation, I thought the frames might be something special too. The price does seem to be a value.
