I think this sounds cool. Even though I despise the sport of spinning, this sounds good. Making it a competition to see who spins the longest or so could be fun too.
Well-known cycling advocate PC, of Los Angeles, California, announced today that he is seeking bicyclists to come down to his place of residence and generate electricity so that he can rock out to some Black Sabbath in air-conditioned comfort.
The project will be taking place today at around 7:00 PM, and will involve the placing of a small reflective plastic disc, encoded with digital information, into a combination disc-reading device / digital-to-analog sound converter.
At the same time, a switch will be thrown on an electrically powered air cooler, bringing the ambient temperature in PC's place of abode down to about 65 degrees. Both devices will be powered remotely by bicycle-driven generators, which PC is hoping the bicyclists will bring with them because he doesn't own any.
PC has also stated that if anybody wants to make him a blueberry and banana smoothie while they're at it, that would be awesome.
I think this sounds rad Richie. The description says that you can have many people spending little time on the generator, so we should just build one huge team........after all, tons of riders is our forte.
After you guys have all sweated for six to eight hours (I plan on listening to Volume IV, Sabotage, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Never Say Die, Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules, Live Evil, and then Volume IV again) in the alley outside my apartment, I will pick one of you and give you a t-shirt or something.
This is totally environmental and it involves bicycles, so I will brook no criticism. Get to work!
they are only asking for riders to bike in 1 hour slots. You can do more if interested. The winning team gets a windstream generator. We also get the t-shirts and teams special jerseys.
I just e-mailed Dianne about this event and she's looking for a team of 8 cyclists who can "each do 250 watts" ...whatever that means. She didn't mention a cover charge or anything but hey sign me up!

3 SkidMarcus
4 Eric Hair ?
5 K139 - 250 watts

Please continue the list with your name, consecutive number, and which day(s)/time(s) you'd be willing to cycle!
