So I went o the premier of Deathbowl to Downtown and it made me really miss skateboarding. I thought that getting together on skateboards just like we do with bikes would be a fun/different night.

Ha! Fruit booters? No hating here. I sucked at skateboarding. The only thing was able to do was ollie on grass… and had one pair of shoes so I had to put duct tape on it. So what was my next step? Rollerblades baby!!
Not to change the subject but back in the day, early to mid 90's, us bladers and skaters (in Ktown) co-existed. Rolling down Wilshire... looking for rails... and gaps to jump. Grinding on the white cement next to the Wiltern and at the back of the am/pm that was around there. Those were the days.
Of course... in the back of my head... the skaters were like.. "Is griding all they do? Let’s see a kickflip!” But yes… skaters I used to see were cool.

DTLA was burned out long long ago..... the security guards are all over that ass on any of the skate spots that are left. Hollywood is not too bad though... where to session? Hollywood high? Name some spots. Anyone remembr the CNA building? If you remember that name you are of the earf.
yeah DTLA is no longer a place skaters go. all the rails and ledges have knobs on them now. same goes with wilshire. chinatown has some cool hidden spots like wall rides, banks, ledges and rails.
the only problem wth a skatepark is people getting hurt and having to carry pads and a helmet. we should just take over a lane and ride. are there any laws about skateboarding in the street?
getting a ticket for being drunk on a skateboard is just a drunk in public ticket, whereas we all know what happens if you get a ticket for being drunk on a bike. yadda yadda yadda.
i can only listen to nofx for a bit. fat mikes voice really annoyes me. also watching them live sucks. they talk waaaay to much. i guess thats why their live album is called "i hear them suck live" for a reason.
I used to ride the CNA banks on sundays after 9pm. The guard was chill and he didnt really want to be outside from what I could tell. the park was not cleaned up like it is and people would sleep around the building, but when the guard did come out, we bribed him with a pack of cigarettes. no joke. got to session that shit all night. this was when you could still buy wheels that were 92a even 85a. ha. otherwise riding those banks now on these new school 101+ wheels will have your balls shaking.
true about the park. I hate wearing pads and helmets. it impedes my monster ollies and backside airs. fuck it though, its been a long time. I need to get my legs back before get down. I know a spot up by wilshire and santa monica that would be fun. parking garage with a launch ramp type driveway curve. real smoove.... some curbs..
I'm thinking more of taking a lane and cruising around. A lot of peeps will be riding long boards too, so super long sessions at spots will be kinda boring for some.
