Anyone know if there is a safe place to park other than Union Station? Or maybe i'll park elsewhere and take the Metro.

I accidentally hit my browsers "back" button a couple times and it posted on the calendar Upcoming Ridezz three times. Apologies!
A few of us taking the metro are meeting at Union Station between 8:30-9:00. Anyone else coming via train?

Stevo4,
There is a Denny's on the east side of Union Station with a nice big parking lot. I have been parking there for downtown rides.

These rides are totally casual and appropriate for a beach cruiser or newer rider. Really well organized.

stphotog:
Encourage your friends to ride but don't oversell them on how "easy" these rides are. Anyone who doesn't ride much might not think a 20 mile ride will be "easy," especially on a cruiser. It's true that the pace is very relaxed, but there will be hills.

ummmm not to scare your gf off, but these rides are a little more than "cruiser" friendly. Does the Tourismo ride ring a bell?
If your girl is riding a cruiser, make sure the tires are pumped up and she can do 15 - 20 miles on it at a casual pace. casual means 12-15 mph.
Parking - Many places to park. I always park close to late opened resturants and shops. My fav is close to that corner shop, where Al's Bar used to be. Also parking cross the street from the entrance of Sci Arc is a good one too.

Brit,
a few of us are meeting at Union Station Metro stop between 8:30-9. Ride starts only a few blocks away. See you thurrr.

You guys are right. I was not trying to mis-lead your friend. it is easy to forget that some people haven't ridden more than a handful of miles at a time. But compared to a Wolfpack/Cubbies, etc. ride, these are very nice comfortable rides with stops along the way where the organizer will give a brief lecture about the history of a building, etc. (Plus the stop at the 7-11s, etc.).

she is not riding a cruiser?? who made that up. She has a 18 speed marin hybrid it is a decent bike and she is strong just not a risky rider (she stops at all the reds etc.) she is a nurse and has seen to much head trauma to run a light,
We will b there!

there is some corking on these rides but it doesn't seem as abusive as on the other party-centric rides. alex puts on a good ride and always has your safety in mind.
you can explain to your gf that corking and going through red lights as a group is sometimes safer than having the group break up in certain situations.
if she still doesn't want to go through reds, catching up won't be hard.
