Calling all bicyclists who live/work/bike/walk in Chinatown, Lincoln Heights, and Cypress Park! Livable Places is doing a plan to make conditions safer to bike and walk to the Metro Gold Line Chinatown and Lincoln/Cypress stations. Specifically our plan focuses on a 1/2-mile radius around these stations, especially the areas that are currently industrial. We're doing bike and walk events where we encourage folks who live/work/walk/bike in the area to attend and give us your input. These are free and include lunch. If you can't make these, there will be additional public input opportunities next year as we near a draft plan.
HELP PLAN BICYCLE CONNECTIONS FOR LINCOLN/CYPRESS AND CHINATOWN:
Bikeabout – October 27th 9am-12noon – Chiparaki Culural Center 1635 N. Spring St (entrance on Baker)
HELP PLAN WALK CONNECTIONS FOR LINCOLN/CYPRESS:
Lincoln/Cypress Station area Walkabout – November 3rd 9am-12noon at Goodwill So Cal 342 San Fernando LA 90031

Yo Ratt_Bones, you should talk to the people at the Farmlab,
http://www.farmlab.org/ They're in this area, have alot of pull, would be interested in working on something like this, do you still need more reasons?

I'll be there, and I've posted it to the Bike Oven web-site as well.

This is a chance for us to have a small impact in our neighborhood. Hopefully, we'll be able to make cycling easier and safer in and around the Gold Line stations in our hood.
