Another reason to add more trains.
Now they run every two hours.
If you live in LA and work in Santa Clarita/Valencia here are your return options:
-3:30
-5:20
-7:00

Every two hours it's a fuckin joke.
Meanwhile there are 200,000 cars using that freeway every day.

Marino,
The only way we'll see change is when we get gas prices that are 3 times and greater than they are today. Sure you'll see small "tokens" of moments to a infrastructure that is more green before that, but not in big ways we would like to see happen.
Just my two pennies.

True. But I've taken that train up to the Antelope Valley plenty of times. It's ALWAYS packed; morning or afternoon. I don't understand why they don't run more lines up there.
Also, it's the slowest train on the planet. There's a long stretch where it only goes about 20mph. Lame!

Yeah, metrolink sucks big.
It's like were I live. I live smack between two sets of lines, the Riverside and the San Bernardino. You'd think this would be a bonus, but it's not, it's ridiculously expensive, about 8 bucks to ride on a weekday, 9 on the weekend, and the trains never run.
The Riverside line runs maybe 4 times a direction each rush hour, one or two of which are express, this is somewhat understandable as the line shares the tracks with amtrack and every singe freight line that runs out of longbeach going east.
The San Bernardino line runs once an hour in each direction, and takes about an hour and 15 minutes from where I live, and only runs from morning commute to about 7 pm then there's maybe one more train at about 9 (which they prided themselves on for running)
Conclusion?
I take the express freeway bus. Two dollars, about an hour, runs 24 hrs a day, most of the day it's every 12 minutes (except the middle of the night, it's 1 time an hour).
I hate riding the bus, I'd rather ride the train, but they make it so inconvienient for anyone but a 9-5er that it sucks.
