What are the advantages to having long cranks? I ride with some 180's which feel good, but ive seen 185's that i want. Will I feel more tired sooner? Can I ride faster? Does the length have something to do with your leg measurement? - (hey, im not trying to compensate for anything!)

Something to consider - especially if you're riding fixed - there is going to be more risk of pedal strikes with longer cranks. Considering I occasionally get pedal strikes pedaling through steep turns on 172.5 cranks I can't imagine going from 180 to 185?!

165 on my go-less-slow bike, 170 on my loaded touring bikes. I like to spin and take corners more aggressively on the faster bike.

if you're tall, long cranks are okay...
if you're short, stick with the shorter ones...
I'm 5' 5" and I tried going to a 172.5 and my knees started hurting because it changed the knee stroke...
