BBE at TNT (the San Diego Make up Show)

Well friends, our San Diego gig was
cancled or rather, rescheduled. We were to perform at the Egyptian in Hillcrest last night. However, last Friday, we were informed that the show was to be moved at UCSD in La Jolla because of "insurance requirements" not willing to be met by the exhibition's sponsor (UCSD). Instead BBE was represented by a 12x16" frame with some photos and spokecards and a stack of hand-printed postcards with metallic ink. It didn't quite have the impact of the a bunch of bikes in the gallery with bells resounding off of the walls, but rolling on La Jolla just wasn't ment to be for us. Franklly, the sidewalks are empty and the roads suck.
My sincere apologies for all that wanted to ride and play last night.
But wait, dry that tear, put that screwdriver down, leave that bell on your bike!
The San Diego chapter of the BBE will be heard!
We have rescheduled for DECEMBER 6, 2007 and we are relocating to DOWNTOWN SAN DIEGO.
We are going to end up somewhere in the vicinity of the
MCASD and the throngs of art-goers that visit the monthly at event
TNT
Our awesome bike friends in SD are gonna help plan the route.
And I expect we are going to have an amazing group of riders/ players. San Diego Rules!

What do you do if you have 10,000 bicycle bells? Well if you're that dude that always gets his face in the evening news during the yearly Tour de France, you build one big ass bike!

I have room for 3 from LA to SD in my massive gas slurping van.
Since, I have to take the van, passengers or no, I'll gladly cop for the gas $$.
We will leave LA around noon so we can dodge traffic and ride around in SD and grab dinner before the performance.
If we get a few passengers we can greatly reduce the absurdity of driving the baby dinosaur 250 miles round trip for a bike event.

MUSIC
Bikes and bells
In case you haven’t noticed the droves of hipsters with their right pant legs rolled up, backpacks and helmets in hand, bicycling has experienced a rebirth, gathering a cult-like following of 20- and 30-somethings who like fresh air and smaller carbon footprints. The bicycle craze extends to the contemporary-music crowd this Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Museum of Contemporary Art’s TNT event, 1001 Kettner Blvd., Downtown. The Bicycle Bell Ensemble hasn’t exactly been formally invited to perform at TNT; nevertheless, a group of bicyclists will ride, play and improvise away at 9 p.m. under the direction of Patrick Miller and composer David M. Semien. www.bicyclebellensemble.org.

OK so I've been a little interweb challenged over the last day.
Thanks for bringing the BBE experience to SD. We all had a great time. It was awesome to have you guys down here.
We got really lucky too. It's rained here for most of the last two days since you left!
I'll do my best to make it up to the toy ride this weekend. That's gonna be epic.
Thanks again
