Attention fender users

I almost crashed on 4th just east of Highland today, I think my front fender swallowed a tree branch or rock. My bike and I are both OK.
If you have any kind of fenders watch what you run over! To peeps rocking SKS fenders: use those silly plastic quick release thingys!

Those are plastic SKS fenders. I'm thinking of getting metal Honjos or Gilles Berthouds now.

You don't need fenders when you live where it never rains.

I've been thinking of getting fenders myself. I've been thinking how useful they would've been during the Sin's and Sprockets ride and the Heavy Metal ride. They totally would've helped. Are they hard to put on/remove?

I've seen people that posted that they made their own fenders. Considering how often it rains around here, DIY fenders aren't a bad idea. I saw one person use a 5-gallon bucket that he cut up. Another that used a plastic trash can. I tried to do a half search for them but just came across this,
