Playing all your favorite Dark wave bands such as
Siouxsie and the Banshees
Alien sex fiend
Bauhaus
The Damned
The Cruxshadows
etc..
Dang I got a shit load of Siouxsie and the Banshees, Alien sex fiend, Bauhaus and more on almost virgin, played 1-2 times, black vinyl. Sadly I'm not breaking it out as it's in storage till the prices get hell high (Or should that be heavenly high?). But I can be available as a consultant.
BTW, you have the ride listed twice. Maybe the dark master of all that righteous on this site can fix this for you.
Aside from the playlist ideas tossed around on Saturday night, I'm thinking that some early 80s LA death rock might be cool for this, e.g. Christian Death, 45 Grave, Superheroines, Gun Club, maybe some of the moodier, swirlier TSOL stuff from the Dance With Me period...yes?
Bands from the area and era that also would fit in well with this, I think, would be 100 Flowers and Mood of Defiance (assuming anybody on the planet has anything by the latter group on mp3*).
*If any of you out there have any Mood of Defiance on mp3, especially "Peanut Butter Skies" or "American Love Song," and are willing to send me said mp3s, I will be your new BFF and/or make sweet, sweet love to you. Just saying.
If you're just going to have bands from the area, the pickings will be slim. The best shit by far was coming from Europe at the time.
What might be a cool ride here in LA is to tour some of the hot spots that may still be around or that is long gone, that hosted some of the LA bands when they all had pimples and stuff.
I said "in addition to" the other stuff, you big silly. The main focus will be on dark wave music as defined by the person whose idea this was.
We actually covered a lot of the old haunts back in February on the Sleaze Ride. Oh, and last Saturday night we passed by the ghost of Fenders Ballroom (1st and Linden, now the site of that new Best Western hotel) several times...
aside from,
a. apart from; besides; excluding: Aside from her salary, she receives money from investments.
b. except for: They had no more food, aside from a few stale rolls.
Please accept my most humble "my bad", for I misinterpreted your thoughts and words.
...um, but I thought it was obvious that I meant it in sense (a) of your definition: the woman in the example doesn't get money from investments instead of her salary, she get it in addition to her salary. Hmm? Hmm? HMM?
I overheard this girl talking at the fetish ride. she does not own a mobile sound system to play any music. And it's a music themed ride. She also does not know the city enough to make a route.
Soo............this ride is in jeopardy. It needs help in a big way!
I don't have the time to help out, but if some one could that would be great. I don't think she knew what she was getting into before posting up the ride. I would just hate to see a hundred or so people bummed out.
How about some INDUSTRIAL STOMPINESS to go along with it, c'mon, you know that Panzermench will improve your cadence, This Shit Will Fuck You Up will get you nice and agro. Sexy time.
Not since anonymitytheif has there been a female host for a MRZ ride. aside from GOGA. I think.
do it and they will ride. Where's all the people with the bright ideas about how to do a ride? In her opening message, she asked for route suggestions. All she got was the music song and dance.
Here's a chance for the ladies to take back the ridezz. Show em how its done.
