Hey, remember that movie I was talking about making? The one about two bicycles in love? We're doing HD camera tests on this ride. All the Ridazz better bring out their best for this one... L-wire, glowsticks, headlights, LEDs... Tall bikes, muties, tandems and townies... Whatever you got - let's light up the night and look our best doing it!!!
Ride meets at 9pm at Hollywood/Western Metro, rides out 9:30!
-We’ll have a ride leader who will help set the pace for the ride.
-The camera bike will be towing a trailer and a camera operator with a Steadicam rig. Look out!
-Stay together! The tighter we ride, the safer it will be for the camera operator.
-We’re going to need a couple of spotters for the camera bike – one in the front, and one in the back.
-Free beer will be provided at both rest stops for all the Ridazz who come out to be a part of this crazy shit.
WESTSIDAZZ interested in rolling to this meet at BIKEROWAVE at 6.30pm ROLL at 6.45 - that should give us plenty of time to get to Hollywood by 8 or 8.30.
my cam op is a guy by the name of toby fulp. does a lot of music video and indie stuff. he's also takes care of all the rentals at express video supply in glendale.
I'm so excited for tonight!! the only camera stuff on bicycles that I've been a part of involved handheld or helmet cams. A steady cam op on a ride?!!?!?!?!?!! AWESOME.
Those pictures are pretty rad. Iain, the blue bike looks great in photos. How you think Electra would respond if I were to, say, buy that bike when we're done with it? I feel like I would need to start wearing a lot more tweed, though.
I just wanted to say SUPER THANKS to everyone that came out!!! it was SUCH a fun ride! and we picked up at least 3 new ridazz on the way, including one from Melbourne, AU who was visiting his wife's family and only here for a couple more days, and one in a car in Beverly Hills that went home, got his friend and his bike and caught up to us a mile from the finish, but still texted me to tell me what an awesome time he had with us!!
That steady cam bike trailer hauler sure is a POWERHOUSE!!! Whoot IAIN for riding that thing the whole way. couldn't believe it!!! but with that determination - I have no doubt that this movie is going to be AWESOME!!
Thanks Stevo and everyone for the awesome photo's! can't wait to see tthe footage!
it was a nearly perfect ride - intimate and fun! the only reason i made it the whole way was because i was riding with an awesome pack of ridazz who kept cheering me on (particularly on that hill at the end of the strip).
the footage looks great! i'll find somewhere to post it soon.
