Looks like it's a 10% chance of precipitation and 100% of raining cops! I bet their feeling very itchy to get a good start on their February ticket quota.
Man, in my ideal world it would rain during the next two SMCM's, but not for any other rides.
I know that sounds fucked up . . . but think about what it would do. The rain acts as a barrier between riders and SMPD. So if it rains we can't have a big negative confrontation. In the meantime, since it doesn't rain on the other rides we have a chance to strengthen support. Then we unleash a monster on SM.
get your ass to critical mass
careful not to ride in the glass
you will need no mustache to pass
compared to crank mob not as crass
my favourite beverage is not Bass
come on now ever lad and lass
come on out and have a blast
That ride was amazing. We had a turnout of about 150, with all kinds of new faces. Clearly the cops didn't get the overtime approved that they need to hassle us, and they were pretty timid, ticketing only one rider. A lot of credit goes to the riders, who've gotten pretty wiley with handling themselves around the cops.
I've been talking to a few folks, and it seems like we've been missing out. Apparently we can claim when we're corking etc that we're using our 1st amendment rights to assemble peaceably. The police then must instruct us to disperse because it's an illegal assembly before they ticket, and they can't ticket you for things that you were doing during your peaceful assembly. WOW. If this is true not only does it make their campaign dead in the water, but it's grounds for a lawsuit.
Anyway - the ride was awesome, we rode for 4 hours, went to Westwood, it was just amazing.
