The ArcLight is playing Fritz Lang's "Metropolis" on Monday, January 7th, 2008. I've never seen it, despite my love for robots and things from the 1920s. From what I gather, it's kind of like "Barbarella," but old-timey. Black-and-white. Filmed by a German guy during the Weimar period. YES.

Ticket price is $12, or $12 if you bike there.
Meet at BikeRoWave at 6, roll at 6:30. I'm way open to route suggestions. I can't remember how we got to Bike Porn.... did we take Santa Monica?
I'd compare it to Barbarella only in the sense that it is awesome.
but you better pray that it's not the '80s colorized re-release with pat benatar and freddie mercury musical accompaniment. or maybe you better pray that it is that version.
I was being flip. I know some of Fritz Lang's work, just not this one. "M" is one of my favorite movies. Creepiest opening sequence ever? It's definitely up there. Eek, whistling...
hey guys that route wifey suggested is horrable supa dupa hills especially the whilshire through Beverly glen and not to mention up doheny,,crazy i suggest since the movie is the mission to take santa monica blvd all the way to la brea then make a left and then a right on to sunset..BTW i live two block from Arclight..
are you insane? there are NO hills on this route.... ive been riding it this past week, and we all know i dont do so good on hills. trust me guys, i avoid them at all costs. it is a flat route.
Santa Monica to South Santa Monica to dinky ass street that runs parallel to santa monica (city center dr or something) to Santa Monica once you get to west hollywood.
only problem is you always miss the turn and haul ass down burton
K, I got my arclight card way back when they opened but does that mean i'm a member or does that just get me a dollar off admission? I haven't been to the arclight in a long time so i have no idea (and i hope to be going to Missing Men anyways).
Yes. "May not go" = "not going." So don't wait for me at der BikeRoWave. But have a good ride, folks. I'll have to see that damned movie one of these days.
