$5 Entry fee per Division:
Mini Bikes (bike supplied - 1st, 2nd, 3rd Prizes)
Adult Bikes (bring your own - 1st, 2nd, 3rd Prizes)
Tall Bikes (bring your own - 1st Prize Only)

Prizes are to be divided as follows after 20% towards C.R.A.N.K. MOB:
1st: 60%
2nd: 30%
3rd: 10%

im not saying u will but dont trash the skatepark.

i enjoy skating there and to see it get wrecked by (used to be skate dudes but realized they sucked) dudes on track bikes with chalk and silly string would be really upsetting.

the skatepark is just north and twords the water from the muscle beach weight lifting area --just look for some dudes with waxed and greased up chests-//- im going a tad bit early to catch the sunset and have a brew- see ya there!!

just out of curiosity, why all the stops? I've been on about 4 rides with Crank Mob and the group stops for what seems like close to an hour per stop each time. You can reply, "Well don't ride then", which is fine, it just tends to be a bit overdone by the end of the night.

I understand stopping for 5 minutes of so to let riders regroup, but why does Crank Mob have so many 30+ min stops?

Cops ruined Crank Mob this month. Still had an awesome time though but May was just crazy in comparison. Cops were more helpful last month too. Weird.. They hated us this time. Honestly though, instead of leaving after one cop in a Home Depot parking lot blasts his sirens, why not we all just hang out until backup arrives. I thought it was funny how we all bolted so quickly. One thousand of us and 2 of them..

5-0 was tripping at home depot and in & out - lapd was way cool compared to the culver city police-lapd chilled untill everyone rolled and the culver pigs were tackling 15 years chicks-- so what happened to the dude that crashed- is he still alive?

yeah I've never seen so many people run when ONE cop car rolled up than at the home depot. haha all you minors shouldn't be drinking if that's how you're going to react.

and that drunk hipster who tacoed my friends bike just crashed 3 minutes earlier into someone else before he plowed into my friend.

it's cool everyone who can ride a bike can come out to Crank Mob but it's also a really bad thing too.

there was some guy on a chrome beach cruiser at the home depot that didnt know how to ride a bike in a big crowd at all.
he almost crashed into me while we were going in to the parking lot and he was there again when we were leaving and this time i almost crashed into his dumbass

The cops made me nervous all night. One 50 car pulled up in the middle of the road right in front of me and i nearly crashed into the cop opening his door to get out on the left when i swerved to avoid a collision. I think they might have arrested the other guy who was trapped between the cops and the pavement on the right. Later at the In and Out the cops really got out of hand, threatening anyone on a bicycle with arrest for just chilling on benches as paying customers.

I cant believe a city gets this nervous from a 1000 kids on bicycles. Imagine if we had motorcycles. I say what is needed is a civil disobedience ride where a 1000 riders decide before hand to submit themselves voluntarily for arrest and then stick together when one of our own gets stopped. We should be snapping pictures, chanting, hooting and confronting peacefully instead of running and splitting up into smaller packs that are easy to pick off.

Culver City PD was very reckless, they drove their cars INTO the group in an aggressive manner. I'm not sure if they are taught these maneuvers to disperse cyclists, but it's unacceptable. If you have any complaints about how they treated you or your friends, please email the person above.

LAPD was mad cool compared to these uptight Culver City bastards.

Old guy that was knocked out on side walk is ok was seen at last stop he got a little light headed from not drinking enough beer

Good call.. But how do you wrangle hundreds of riders when nobody wants to be the leader. There was no leadership last night and I think that was part of the problem. We need pep talks about how to deal with the KKKulver City Cops beforehand to make everyone an informed rider.

Just my opinion. I've only been on 2 Crank Mobs. This one and last month and from my perspective, last month had more of a heart and a purpose. Maybe the cops fucked it up yesterday, I don't know.. It just felt like nobody wanted to take control and the night just slowly fizzled away...

crank mob isn't what it used to be and the cops only get worse. it really breaks my heart. hopefully things will get better, but i don't see that happening anytime soon. total bummer.

I view bullying, coercing and threatening riders as a civil rights issue. If any of you and other cyclists want to meet, talk to or at least have your views read and heard by the Culver City Police management (chief, deputy chief and captains) and the Culver City mayor and city council, please send your contact info and your clearly written statements of what you've witnessed to labicyclist@gmail.com
Include the who, what and where. We need to write down officer's names, car numbers, physical descriptions etc. Photos and videos are great too. Otherwise it's hard to prove who did what.
If members of the bicycle community do meet police management and politicians, we should be organized, professional looking and well spoken. That will have credibility and MAY enact positive change.
