We've been hittin' the streets on NYD for the last 2 years.
It WILL happen again.
Mr. Rollers and I have been talking about puting something together.
We just need to work out the details.
Prepare for food, fun, hangover recovery, and of course some good riding.

If we have a picnic first it will give people plenty of opportunity to trickle in as they please.

Yes, thinking picnic around 1pm and ride around 3pm, before it gets dark?

Potluck = Always YES!
If I'm not mistaken I think the wonderful and elusive Mrs. Rollers is going to help plan the picnic.
I've been thinking it would be nice to have a park that has BBQs.
For some nice warmth.
Griffith park has been shut down for BBQing since the fire.
I don't even know if there are any decent parks with BBQs left in LA.

We're going to make "Moors & Christians", the rest will be pot luck. I'll do a recon of the Old Zoo sometime later this week to see what the deal is. I like the idea of having it there and riding to the top of Griffith Park, but I know there might be some whining . . .
There are also BBQs at the top of Elysian Park, but it can get crowded up there on the weekends. It's also good climb on a bike, but worth it (IMHO).

I bet NYD there wont be many people out picnicking
just about any park we pick we will have all to our selves
that's what I am guessing.

The last 2 years we started in hollywood
ended in DTLA and did about 15 miles.
This year will be a bit different because we will picnicking at a park first.
But anybody have any ideas of where possible places to hit up for some new years day fun.
There are tons of places to eat in DTLA so I love ending up there but would love to hear any ideas of places to stop or go that might be incorporated into our ride.
@ Rollers if we do Elisian Park would it make any sense to go up to angles point or whatever, seem like a great place to take in the city.

Hey all, sorry for the late notice on this, but I have been sick with this lousy flu (in fact I haven't been further than the mail box since Sunday), so I am forced to abdicate my responsibilities on this one.
There might still be a ride happening though; stay tuned.

Feel better rollerz.
So ... who wants to ride?
Shall we do something similar to last year?
Maybe leave out the crash and mayhem portion of the ride?

OK here's the deal.
Rollerz was gonna plan this.
i was gonna help
he got sick this week and didn't realize till this AM that he'd be too sick to make this happen.
SO ...
at this point there is no plan
no start point and no route.
And at this point I don't have the time and energy to make this happen.
But there is a beautiful day tomorrow and there will be lightly trafficked streets.
Somebody should post the ride.
i'm not going to.
Post it and they will come.

Cub Camp's got something going in the afternoon. Fluffa's guaranteed to not be there. He doesn't want to get his heart broken again like on Xmas day.
Sad, you looked so happy here Fluffa. You got that special glow that I've never seen you with before. Too bad it only lasted a day. :-(

man, there's so much crap in the topic box that it's difficult to find rides.
whatthefrench, pmiller?! no New Year Day Tradition Ride? that's tradition! like user1 and analbeadman getting it on at every stop.
i always hated the NYDTR because it was too early 12 or 2pm, and then thought the pace was too slow, but i learned to love the NYD Tradition Ride. i learned to love the NYDTR!
you should learn to love the NYDTR, too!
