Residents Invited to Help Make Long Beach More Bicycle-Friendly
Residents are invited to attend a community meeting on April 2 to discuss plans for expanding and improving bicycle facilities and programs in Long Beach. The Planning a Bicycle-Friendly Community meeting will be held at 6:30 pm at Minnie Gant Elementary School Auditorium, 1854 N. Britton Dr. This discussion will be considered in updating the City's Bicycle Master Plan as a part of the Long Beach 2030 general plan update.

this is great. i would even go, though I live in echo park, but I'll be in Idaho. Go, people, go. One community at a time and we'll have the whole of Southern California going strong...then we can move to ZE WERLD!

Long Beach is poised to be a huge bike city.
The weather is perfect, a (mostly) flat, accessible city with way less traffic than LA.
All thats needed is some leadership and vision that that place could be new Amsterdam by the sea.

This ended up being well attended considering the threat of rain. There was about 50-55 people in the audience. Alot of smoke about making some new bike lanes, I'm not holding my breath. They did say that we'll be having some sharrows and bike signs by the end of the year. I'm far happier hearing that!
All and all, I guess there are some ridazz here. Someone was handing out cards for this site,
